Sambo gave the recommendation during an appearance on Arise News “The Morning Show” on Monday, citing leadership disputes and multiple legal challenges as major concerns for those aligning with the party.
He warned that the ADC is currently burdened by serious structural and legal issues that could undermine its effectiveness as a coalition platform.
According to him, although the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may benefit from the opposition’s internal struggles, the challenges facing the ADC are largely self-inflicted.
“I think if they have a solid strategy, they should begin to consider another political platform for now because the problems are numerous,” Sambo said.
He revealed that beyond the dispute involving Nafiu Bala, there are additional legal cases questioning the legitimacy of the party’s leadership, including claims that a former executive was improperly constituted.
Sambo noted that while the ADC may have initially appealed to opposition figures for strategic reasons—such as its positioning on the ballot—its growing legal troubles now pose significant risks.
He also cautioned that exploring other parties may come with complications, as some newly registered platforms could face legal challenges over their formation.
Despite these concerns, Sambo stressed that stakeholders must carefully evaluate their options, warning that the ADC’s current state could hinder their political ambitions if not urgently addressed.
