Zulum made this known in an Easter message released on Sunday through his media aide, Dauda Iliya, as he extended greetings to Christians in Borno and across Nigeria.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting peace and unity, highlighting the growing harmony between Christians and Muslims in the state.

“It is encouraging to see the level of religious harmony between Christians and Muslims in Borno. I urge residents to sustain this spirit as we continue taking deliberate steps toward lasting peace,” he said.

The governor described Easter as a sacred season that reflects sacrifice, love, and forgiveness, noting that it marks the end of the 40-day Lenten period of fasting, prayer, and reflection.

Zulum also reiterated his government’s resolve to improve security and support residents amid economic challenges. He disclosed that over 300,000 families have benefited from expanded palliative distributions aimed at easing hardship.

He called on citizens to remain united and avoid actions that could create division, especially during the current political climate.

“Borno belongs to all of us. We must avoid divisive tendencies and remain focused on our collective recovery, without allowing enemies of peace to derail our progress,” he added.

The governor commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, other security agencies, the Civilian Joint Task Force, hunters, and vigilantes for their sacrifices and successes in the fight against insurgency. He also praised traditional and religious leaders for fostering peaceful coexistence.

Zulum expressed optimism that with continued collaboration and resilience, Borno State will overcome its security challenges and achieve lasting peace.

NNPP Rejects Atiku, Says “We Don’t Want To Be Part Of ADC”.

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dismissed claims by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that it is part of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement on Thursday, NNPP National Secretary Ogini Olaposi said the party is not affiliated with the ADC and has no plans to join or merge with the coalition.

He clarified that the involvement of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and members of the Kwankwasiya Movement in ADC activities does not represent the NNPP as a political party.

Olaposi also claimed that only a minority of Kwankwasiya supporters followed Kwankwaso, insisting that many of them have since joined the APC.

He further accused Atiku of misinformation, stressing that NNPP remains an independent political party focused on contesting elections on its own platform.

According to him, any previous association with the Kwankwasiya Movement ended after the 2023 general elections, adding that Kwankwaso and some associates had already been expelled from the party.
