“Passengers Furious Over Air Peace Flight Delay From Heathrow To Nigeria”.

Passengers scheduled to fly from London Heathrow to Nigeria on an Air Peace flight were left frustrated after multiple delays forced them to spend the night stranded at the airport.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The flight, originally set to depart at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, was first postponed to 10:20 p.m., after which airline officials reportedly stopped providing updates, sparking anger among travellers.

One passenger told Sahara Reporters, “Passengers almost confronted the operational manager at Heathrow. We were supposed to depart at 21:20, then they moved it to 22:20. After that, they stopped responding, and that’s when frustration boiled over.”

The prolonged lack of communication created confusion and tension among those waiting to board. Passengers were eventually transported to a nearby hotel in the early hours of Sunday. Later, the airline emailed an apology and announced a new departure time of 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Some travellers described the experience as chaotic, citing the delay and limited information as key sources of stress.

However, an Air Peace official, speaking anonymously, said the disruption was due to a technical issue and insisted passengers were adequately informed and accommodated.

“The passengers were informed about the technical issue and provided hotel accommodations. Options to reschedule or wait for the next available flight were offered in line with NCAA directives and customer protection regulations,” the official said.

The airline also dismissed claims that passengers were abandoned. “Any suggestion that people were left stranded is false. Everyone received information and accommodation. The narrative of poor communication is incorrect,” the official added.

This incident comes weeks after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) summoned Air Peace over passenger complaints about flight disruptions, including delayed refunds and unprocessed compensation, particularly on the Heathrow–Abuja route.

Michael Achimugu, NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, confirmed that the regulator’s Consumer Protection Department is investigating the situation and will take action in accordance with Part 19 of the NCAA regulations 2023.
