PMAN’s acting governor, Michael Oyibo Kaycee, announced this during a Friday press briefing in Abuja, emphasizing the need to hire certified musicians.

Kaycee warned that the association will no longer tolerate exploitation, disrespect, or underpayment of musicians in the capital.

“Stakeholders must follow industrial standards, engage certified musicians, and meet their obligations. Our task force is now fully operational. Show and event planners must seek permission from PMAN,” he said.

He also highlighted the decline in traditional TV viewership, noting that “in today’s digital age, even a young person in a remote area can gain global recognition online. Digital platforms are now the main channel for content distribution.”

Kaycee called on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to support the association in addressing these challenges.

Furthermore, the Minister affirmed that the government remains focused on completing all ongoing infrastructure projects within their planned timelines.

Calls for Resignation from Opposition Groups

Supported by the House of Representatives Minority Caucus, acting National Chairman Peter Ameh argued that the current administration has failed to produce the necessary results for good governance. In his communication, the Olisa explained that the selection process was conducted in strict adherence to Section 4(2) of the Chiefs Law of 1957 and established customary laws. He noted that after convening multiple meetings, the council decided to put forward five qualified candidates rather than a single nominee, leaving the final selection to the state government. The nominees are Prince Ademorin Aliu Kuye, Prince Isiaq Ayodele Adewale Adekoya (Eleruja), Prince Onabanjo Abimbola John, Prince Oluwaseun Waheed Omopenu Onanuga, and Prince Olabode Onanuga.

Adesanya emphasized that the decision was made to ensure the continued prosperity and progress of Ijebuland, noting that the selected princes possess the experience and background necessary to serve the interests of the state and the nation.
