Speaking on Friday amid rumours of Governor Bala Mohammed’s possible defection, Marti said the PDP continues to enjoy widespread public support, noting its achievements since 2019.

“Bauchi State is the home of PDP. From 2019 till now, the people have seen what we’ve done. They trust us and recognise the improvements in living standards across the state,” he said.

Marti added that internal disagreements have been resolved and the party is now fully focused on the 2027 elections.

“There is no crisis. PDP is free of litigation and ready to present candidates who can win in 2027. The people and aspirants know we are prepared to retain Government House,” he said.

Acknowledging that internal disputes are normal in politics, he described them as tests of loyalty and commitment.

On speculation about Governor Mohammed leaving the party, Marti urged him to reconsider and welcomed reconciliation.

“Our leader encourages dialogue and the PDP is ready to resolve any issues so he can continue his work within the party,” he said, stressing that the governor owes his political rise to the PDP.

He also expressed confidence that the party would remain strong even if the governor departs.

“Even if Bala Mohammed leaves, PDP will endure. The flag may dip temporarily, but it will rise again before 2027,” he said.

Marti cautioned that leaving the party may not make politics easier for the governor but expressed hope he would make the right decision, which Bauchi residents eagerly await.

He also congratulated Haruna Mohammed Jungudo on becoming the party’s National Publicity Secretary, noting that Wike has brought stability to the PDP.
