Gabriele Gravina Resigns As FIGC President After Italy’s World Cup Disaster.

Gravina submitted his resignation during an emergency FIGC general council meeting convened shortly after Italy’s penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their play-off final on March 31. A new president is set to be elected on June 22.
The emergency meeting brought together key stakeholders in Italian football, including representatives from professional leagues, the amateur sector, players, and coaches.
Gravina had been in charge since October 2018. While his tenure saw Italy win the UEFA Euro 2020 title, the team missed out on the 2022 and 2026 World Cups, having also failed to qualify for the 2018 edition prior to his leadership.
During his time in office, he oversaw the appointments of Luciano Spalletti and Gennaro Gattuso as national team coaches in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
Calls for his resignation had grown louder following the latest disappointment, with fans and top football figures demanding reforms. Italy’s sports minister, Andrea Abodi, stated that Italian football requires rebuilding, beginning with changes in FIGC leadership.
There are also growing reports that Gattuso and his coaching staff could be dismissed in the wake of the World Cup qualification failure.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of 632,788 results for candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on April 16.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the Board advised candidates to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
JAMB stated that candidates can currently only view their results, adding that printing of result slips will be activated later.
The Board also warned candidates against tampering with or falsifying result messages obtained through official channels, describing such actions as a serious criminal offence.
It revealed that enforcement measures are already underway, with some individuals arrested for alleged result manipulation using digital tools.
According to JAMB, further results will be released in batches as processing continues.
