“Peace Has Returned To PDP; Critics Who Doubted It Have Left – Abba Moro.

The Senate Minority Leader, Patrick Abba Moro, has stated that politicians unwilling to embrace peace have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking at the PDP National Convention in Abuja, Moro said the party’s crisis is easing as those opposed to reconciliation exit the platform.

“Those who insisted that there would be no peace in the PDP have all negotiated their way out of the party. We now have only two governors,” he noted. He also praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for remaining loyal to the party throughout the prolonged crisis.

Meanwhile, Wike responded to Moro’s remarks during the 106th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting organized by the Abdulrahman Mohammed faction in Abuja, challenging rivals to be transparent about their reconciliation intentions.

“Minority leader, when you talk about reconciliation, present your terms so we know. Concrete proposals, not like last time when negotiations happened secretly. I don’t like deals done at night and announced in the day. Those coming for peace should do so openly,” Wike said, asserting that his faction remains firmly in control of the party.

Following Monday’s Court of Appeal ruling affirming the current caretaker leadership, Wike emphasized that while his camp is open to reconciliation, it will only engage as the dominant force.

“PDP will never die. Crises happen, but they are opportunities to put ourselves in order. Life has stages, and this is a natural process. We are for genuine reconciliation,” he added.

Wike also dismissed claims that his role in the All Progressives Congress (APC) makes him a “mole” within PDP. “Those who accused me are now in APC, yet I remain in PDP,” he said.

He confirmed that the party’s National Convention will proceed as planned, rejecting calls to form a new caretaker committee to appease disgruntled members. “The logistics are ready, the venue is secured, and fees are paid. No new caretaker committee. The convention will hold, and all members can participate,” Wike concluded.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Chief Emmanuel Igwe, Odii emphasized that individuals entrusted with public resources must provide a full account of their stewardship. He is demanding complete transparency regarding the money supposedly spent on constructing 627 kilometers of roads by the Ebonyi State Government, including the release of bidding procedures, procurement documents, payment details, variations, and project certificates.

Additionally, Odii wants clarification on expenditures tied to several major projects, such as the Vanco Flyover, the ICT University, Oferekpe, the Aeronautic University in Onueke, a disputed two-kilometer road initiative, and the residential duplexes built for traditional rulers.

He further urged the state administration to publicize its FAAC receipts, local government and development center allocations, actual council earnings, spending logs, and grants acquired from donor agencies, asserting that every single unit of taxpayers’ funds requires proper accountability.

As part of these demands, Odii revealed that a pre-action notice providing a seven-day ultimatum will be issued to the Ebonyi State Government to release the requested records, or face subsequent legal action. He criticized Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration for managing large amounts of public funds with a lack of transparency.

Finally, Odii advised the citizens of Ebonyi to stay calm and assured them that an administration under his leadership in 2027 would prioritize transparency and accountability. He also encouraged voters to safeguard their ballots, reminding them that true leadership power remains with the electorate.
