Makinde PDP Faction Reacts: “Supreme Court Will Decide” After INEC Recognizes Wike Camp.

The announcement was made on Monday by the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, who expressed concern over “disturbing activities” in the past 48 hours surrounding the tussle and urged the apex court to expedite its ruling.
Ememobong stated that genuine PDP members across Nigeria are anxious about the party’s future and the state of the country’s democracy. He assured that all matters concerning party leadership, particularly internal affairs, have been brought before the Supreme Court, and the faction is hopeful for a swift resolution.
The statement followed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) update of its records, recognizing the National Working Committee that emerged from the PDP factional convention held on Sunday, listing Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as Secretary.
Ememobong described the Wike-led faction’s convention as a “pre-Easter jamboree” held in contempt of an Appeal Court order. He added that the Federal High Court, Abuja, recently ruled in favor of the Wike-backed faction, granting them access to the PDP secretariat, prompting Makinde’s faction to immediately appeal.
The statement accused the APC-led federal government under President Bola Tinubu of orchestrating crises within the PDP and other opposition parties to undermine multi-party democracy.
The Makinde faction urged members and Nigerians to remain hopeful, emphasizing that the Supreme Court has a historic opportunity to defend the Constitution and uphold the principles of internal party governance.
