Gov. Sule, Atiku Allegedly Hold Secret Talks In Saudi Arabia On Tinubu’s 2027 Defeat.

Published

on

Reports have surfaced about a purported meeting between Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, during the recent lesser hajj (Umrah).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Peoples Gazette, the alleged meeting took place on March 11, 2026, at the Conrad Jabal Omar Hotel in Mecca during an iftar dinner in Ramadan. Sources claim the discussion lasted about two hours and focused on political strategies ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The report suggested that the meeting revolved around potential collaboration aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid. Atiku, who joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2025 after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is reportedly considering another presidential run.

Sources quoted in the report allege that Governor Sule expressed support for Atiku’s ambitions and pledged to assist in securing votes in Nasarawa State. The governor is also said to have sought political assurances for a potential bid for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in 2027.

A source familiar with the alleged encounter stated: “Governor Abdullahi Sule met with Atiku Abubakar in Saudi Arabia weeks ago. He had a two-hour meeting at Conrad Jabal Omar Hotel in Mecca on March 11, 2026.” Discussions reportedly included returning the presidency to northern Nigeria in 2027.

The report further cited an unnamed official from the Tinubu camp, who expressed concern that northern politicians might shift loyalty to Atiku if he becomes the opposition’s candidate. This development, the official claimed, could see some governors and lawmakers defect ahead of the election.

When asked about the alleged meeting, Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, neither confirmed nor denied it, stating: “I’m not aware of a meeting of that nature. What I can confirm is that His Excellency Atiku Abubakar travelled for the lesser hajj and returned to the country on Saturday.”

Similarly, Ibrahim Addra, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sule, said he was unaware of any such meeting but confirmed that the governor attended the lesser hajj.

Reports indicated that both Sule and Atiku were in Mecca around the same period between February and March 2026. During his stay, Sule reportedly met with political associates, including Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu of Nasarawa South. The report also noted that Atiku met with Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, during the Umrah.

This comes despite Wike’s open endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election, as well as his recent comments suggesting the party may struggle to fund a nationwide presidential campaign.

He said the party’s National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Monday will address key issues such as zoning arrangements and nomination fees.

According to him, “We are going to have a presidential candidate. The NEC will decide the zoning formula. Our goal is to win the election and take power from the APC.”

Responding to questions about Wike’s support for President Tinubu, he argued that the minister was speaking in his personal capacity and not on behalf of the PDP.

Outrage As Lagos Clears Police Officers, Developer In Owode Onirin Deaths.

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice has released four police officers and a developer, Abiodun Ariori, who were accused in connection with the killing of six traders in the Owode Onirin area of Kosofe, Lagos State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The decision followed legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), which concluded that the officers acted in self-defence during a mob attack.

In the advice signed by DPP Babajide Martins, the office stated that investigators failed to provide sufficient evidence, including autopsy and ballistic reports, to support criminal charges such as manslaughter.

It further stated that available facts did not clearly link the suspects to the deaths, while noting that the officers were acting to protect themselves during the chaos. The DPP also said the developer was not physically present at the scene when the incident occurred.

The incident reportedly happened during the enforcement of a disputed court order over a land area occupied by traders, which later turned violent and led to the deaths.

However, the Nigeria Police Force disagreed with the legal advice, insisting that autopsy and ballistic findings were strong enough to prosecute the suspects.

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, who represents the victims’ families, said the case is not over, adding that additional evidence would be submitted to the DPP while also pursuing compensation through a civil suit.
