He noted that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the country is experiencing bold, transformative reforms that are building a strong foundation for long-term growth and shared prosperity.

“In agriculture and agribusiness, targeted interventions are boosting productivity, restoring farmers’ confidence, and strengthening national food systems,” he said.

“In the oil and gas sector, extensive reforms are improving efficiency, promoting transparency, and securing the future of our energy economy,” the governor added.

Governor Uba Sani made the remarks during his welcome address at the All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Zonal Congress on Wednesday.

He highlighted that decisive fiscal and tax policies are stabilizing the economy while creating avenues for inclusive development. He also praised the introduction of the Student Loan Scheme, which provides new opportunities for young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring financial barriers do not hinder educational advancement.

The governor further pointed to massive investments in infrastructure, including roads, rail, and energy projects, which are reconnecting communities, stimulating commerce, and unlocking new economic opportunities.

As Coordinating Governor of APC Northwest Zone, Uba Sani emphasized that “these achievements are real, visible, and impactful—they are changing lives. In Kaduna State and across the North-West, we are direct beneficiaries of this purposeful leadership.”

He added that security improvements, farmers returning to their fields, thriving markets, and restored community confidence demonstrate the positive impact of the administration’s policies.

Addressing delegates, he stressed that the congress is not just about leadership selection but also about strengthening unity, deepening party structures, and aligning strategies for the future. He urged participants to act with fairness, discipline, and responsibility, reflecting the democratic values the party upholds.

Governor Uba Sani also welcomed Dauda Lawal and Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, along with their supporters, into the APC. He described their inclusion as momentous and strengthening the party’s collective vision, depth, and national outlook.

Sani made the statement amid growing scrutiny of his relationship with the former governor.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV’s Daily Politics, the Kaduna governor reaffirmed his deep respect for El-Rufai, stressing that he would not publicise every action he had taken to show his regard for him.

According to Sani, respect for someone does not require making private gestures or acts of support public.

“As a matter of respect, many things I’ve done to show my respect for him, my regard for him, I don’t think I should come out and say it. Because when you respect someone, you don’t come out to say certain things,” he said.

Nigeria Would Be So Rich If Everybody Left Money In The Bank – Peter Obi.

Published

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said Nigeria could have accumulated significant wealth if public funds had been consistently kept in banks to generate interest rather than being mismanaged.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Obi made the remark during an interview with a radio station in Nasarawa State on Wednesday.

According to the former Anambra State governor, the country’s financial position would have been considerably stronger if public office holders had protected government funds and allowed them to earn interest in financial institutions.

“I wish everybody in this country left money in the bank; they have interest. Nigeria would have been so rich that we don’t know what to do with money,” he said.

Obi disclosed that his administration kept public funds in three different banks, stressing the importance of safeguarding government resources.

He also criticised what he described as a culture of dishonesty in Nigeria, arguing that individuals who act with integrity are often targeted by those seeking to discredit them.

“Nigeria is a criminalised place. The criminals will always come together to show what the honest person did,” he stated.

The NDC presidential candidate further lamented what he described as a reversal of moral values, where honesty is treated as wrongdoing while criminal conduct appears to be tolerated.

“In Nigeria, to be honest is to be a criminal. To be criminal is to be honest,” Obi said.

He reiterated that Nigeria could have built greater financial reserves if successive leaders had consistently protected public funds and allowed them to generate returns instead of diverting them.

“We would have been worth so much that we don’t know what to do with money,” he added.

Obi also addressed questions about his administration’s approach to publicising government projects, explaining that he believed the results of governance should speak for themselves because the projects were funded with taxpayers’ money.

“We did what we were doing with public money, so the public already see us working, so why are we going to do the ceremony or showing it on TV? Maybe I was wrong, but that was what happened,” he said.

The former governor also defended his record in basic education, maintaining that Anambra State performed exceptionally well in the sector during his tenure.

“I was the best in education, basic education as a governor. You can go and check the records,” Obi said.

Why Is Arokodare Not Playing More At Ajax? Janssen Raises Concerns.

Former Netherlands midfielder Theo Janssen has questioned whether Tolu Arokodare’s loan arrangement is affecting the Nigerian striker’s playing time at Ajax, despite his impressive performances for the Dutch club.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Janssen raised the issue while appearing on Ziggo Sport’s Rondo programme, suggesting that Ajax’s decision to sign Marcos Leonardo on a permanent deal could be influencing the coach’s team selection.

“It has to do with money that he does not always play,” Janssen said, as quoted by Headtopics.

The former midfielder wondered whether Arokodare’s loan status, compared with Leonardo’s permanent contract, could be a factor in the coach’s decisions.

“Tolu is on loan, and Leonardo was bought. Do you think the trainer decides this?” he asked.

Janssen maintained that Arokodare deserved more opportunities, highlighting the striker’s physical strength, finishing ability and character.

“He is a nice guy when you hear him talk. He is strong and can score a goal. He is just a good player,” he added.

Arokodare has recorded nine goals and three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions since joining Ajax, performances that have strengthened his case for a more regular place in the team.

The 25-year-old recently scored the winning goal in Ajax’s 2-1 victory over Sparta Rotterdam on October 25. He also reached the milestone of 100 career goals during the club’s match against Atalanta on October 22.

Ajax signed the Nigerian striker on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers on July 29, after he struggled to establish himself during his first season at Molineux.

Reports indicate that Ajax are covering his full wages and paying a loan fee, with additional payments reportedly tied to qualification for European competitions. The agreement is also said to include an option to sign him permanently for approximately €22 million.

Arokodare is reportedly willing to make his stay at Ajax permanent, provided the club improves its salary offer. Ajax are also said to be interested in retaining the striker beyond the current season.
