The decision was taken on March 25, 2026, during a meeting of the State Working Committee, where members reviewed concerns surrounding his leadership and conduct.
In a letter issued by the State Secretary, Kafas D. Kaura, the party said the suspension was based on several actions and lapses that violate its constitution.
Ninga was accused of leaking sensitive party information to rival groups, operating the party in an autocratic manner, and making major decisions without consulting other members of the State Working Committee.
He was also faulted for failing to convene crucial meetings and allegedly engaging in activities considered detrimental to the party’s interests.
The PDP stated that the suspension will remain in effect for one month while a disciplinary panel investigates the allegations and determines the next course of action.
The committee further directed Ninga to immediately hand over all party property in his possession to the deputy chairman.
According to the party, the move is in line with its constitution, with further decisions to follow after the investigation is concluded.
