IPOB Hails US Congress, Mark Arnold For ‘Bold Stand’ On Nigeria, Calls For Referendum.

Arnold recently stated on Facebook that the British government opposes an independent Republic of Biafra, reportedly to avoid paying around $6 trillion in reparations for past crimes against the Biafran people. Meanwhile, US congressmen led by Riley Moore have been advocating against alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

In a statement on Thursday, IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful commended Arnold and the congressmen and reiterated the group’s demand for a UN-supervised referendum, describing Nigeria as a failed state heading toward collapse.

“The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the leadership of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, warmly commends Mr. Mark Arnold and the courageous members of the US Congress for their timely and fearless intervention in exposing Nigeria’s unfolding crisis,” the statement read.

IPOB highlighted that thousands of Nigerians have been killed by jihadist groups, while Kanu’s Eastern Security Network (ESN) has maintained relative security in the South-East. The group insisted that only Biafraland remains safe from attacks, crediting Kanu’s leadership.

“Every prophecy made by our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is coming true. The Middle Belt has fallen, Yorubaland faces attacks, but Biafraland remains a fortress,” the statement said.

IPOB emphasized that its central demand is a peaceful, internationally supervised referendum for Biafra’s self-determination. The group warned that any attempts to suppress this demand through force, propaganda, or intimidation would accelerate Nigeria’s disintegration.

The statement also called on Biafrans and international supporters to intensify diplomatic efforts, saying: “Nigeria, as currently constituted, is a failed experiment heading toward disaster. Only self-determination for Biafra can prevent further catastrophe.”

IPOB concluded by acknowledging the sacrifices of those who have kept the Biafran cause alive, urging the global community to no longer ignore the crisis.

ADC Ticket Battle: Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Others Blast Atiku Over Supremacy Claims.

Published

on

A heated political exchange has erupted within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential race, as camps backing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s rivals push back against his claims of superior popularity, especially in the North.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso rejected Atiku’s assertion that he remains the dominant northern vote-getter, insisting that such claims do not reflect today’s political realities.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement, aligned with a potential Obi-Kwankwaso ticket, dismissed Atiku’s influence in the North as largely elite-driven, arguing that Kwankwaso enjoys more genuine grassroots support.

Former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi also reacted, faulting Atiku’s position and questioning the logic of relying solely on regional identity as a basis for presidential ambition.

Atiku, in a recent interview, had maintained that none of his northern rivals, including Kwankwaso, can match his electoral strength, while downplaying Kwankwaso’s influence beyond Kano State.

His remarks sparked criticism across political circles, with some opposition figures describing them as arrogant and dismissive of other contenders.

Kwankwaso’s camp, however, maintained that both Kwankwaso and Obi have more “organic” support bases compared to politically induced followership, warning that such comments could deepen divisions within the ADC coalition.

Amaechi also argued that the ADC presidential ticket should be determined through a competitive primary rather than consensus, insisting that all aspirants should be tested at the ballot.

The growing disagreement highlights rising tension within the opposition alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections, as key figures intensify positioning for the party’s presidential ticket.
