Three members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) have died, and 10 others were injured in a road accident at Bara Village, Bauchi State.

The crash occurred on Monday along the Bauchi-Gombe Highway as the group was returning from an evangelism outreach in Taraba State.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS12.15 Bara Unit Command, the accident happened around 11:30 am at the Tumfere-Lakau axis and was reported shortly after, with FRSC personnel arriving at 11:52 am.

The incident involved a Toyota Hiace bus (registration KWL-03HC) owned by ECWA and driven by Emmanuel Kwata. Preliminary investigations suggest the crash was caused by a tyre burst while the vehicle was in motion.

There were 13 passengers on board—10 men and three women. Three individuals—a man and two women—were confirmed dead, while the remaining 10 sustained injuries. The injured were taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, where six remain under care and five have been discharged.

The deceased have been identified as Mama Deborah Bonat, former ECWA Women Fellowship International leader; Rev. Habila Tagwai Kajan, former Zonzon District Church Council (DCC) Secretary; and Mama Lydia John.

ECWA leadership confirmed the tragedy and expressed sorrow over the loss. In a statement signed by Public Relations Officer Danjuma Dickson Auta, the church noted that the bus was transporting 14 participants from the Zonzon DCC in Kaduna State and is coordinating with authorities to ensure the safe return of the deceased to their families for burial.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi after he equalled Mohamed Salah’s record for the most Premier League appearances by an African player, with both stars having featured in 328 matches.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Iwobi achieved the milestone on Saturday, October 24, when Fulham secured a 1-0 victory over Coventry City. The 30-year-old Nigerian midfielder has now drawn level with Egyptian forward Salah on the list of African players with the most appearances in the English top flight.

Iwobi is now 25 appearances away from overtaking former Ivory Coast international Kolo Touré, who made 353 Premier League appearances during his career with several English clubs.

Reacting to the achievement, the NFF’s Acting General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, praised Iwobi and expressed optimism that he would soon set a new record for African players in the competition.

“The NFF celebrates Alex Iwobi for this new achievement, and we wish him even greater glory. We will be very happy to see him become the African with the most appearances in the Premier League in the near future,” Ikpeme said.

Iwobi also delivered a solid performance in Fulham’s victory over Coventry City, recording 60 touches and completing 51 passes at an accuracy rate of 86.3 per cent during his 73 minutes on the pitch.

The achievement further highlights the midfielder’s experience in football, both at club and international levels.

Iwobi reached another career milestone this summer when he earned his 100th cap for Nigeria during an international friendly against Portugal in Leiria.

The Fulham star has also helped the Super Eagles secure three medals at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), winning one silver and two bronze medals.

The father of late gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has revealed that he would prefer his son to be buried in the house he built rather than in a cemetery.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The father made this known during an interview amid reports of disagreements within the family over the late singer’s burial arrangements.

According to reports, Toluwanisings’ father wants his son laid to rest at his house or taken to Ikirun, Osun State, where his late mother was buried. However, the singer’s wife reportedly prefers that he be buried in a cemetery in Ibadan, Oyo State.

During the interview, the father disclosed that the singer’s real name was Sadiq Olayemi Bayonle and that he was born in July 1992. He also revealed that Toluwanisings lost his mother when he was just six months old.

Recalling the circumstances surrounding his son’s early childhood, he explained that the maternal family had requested that the child be released to them following his mother’s death to help console them. However, he said the family continued to take responsibility for the boy.

The father also expressed happiness over his son’s decision to embrace Christianity, noting that their family comprises both Christians and Muslims.

He further recounted that Toluwanisings attended Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, where he met the woman who later became his wife through their involvement in a church choir.

According to him, the singer later informed the family of his intention to marry.

The father disclosed that after marrying another woman, Toluwanisings asked him to introduce him to his younger half-siblings. He said the singer subsequently developed a close relationship with them and remained supportive of the family.

He praised his late son for the financial assistance he provided to him and his half-siblings, adding that the singer had continued to make plans to improve their lives shortly before his death.

The father revealed that Toluwanisings had promised to establish one of his half-siblings in business just a day before he died.

Expressing his preference for the burial arrangements, he said: “I would be happy if he is buried in the house he built and not in a burial ground.”

He described Toluwanisings as a loving son and a supportive brother who remained committed to the welfare of his family until his death.

The late singer is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children.

“I Feel Election Will Be Postponed” – Aisha Yesufu Raises Alarm Over 2027 Polls.

Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has expressed concern over what she suspects could be a plan to manipulate the 2027 general elections through a last-minute postponement.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Yesufu, in a post shared on her X handle on Sunday, said she feared the election could be postponed by one week on the eve of the polls or shortly before election day, when political candidates would be particularly vulnerable.

According to the activist, such a sudden change in the election date could put candidates under financial pressure, forcing them to restart campaign spending after exhausting much of their resources.

“I don’t know why I feel one of the game plans to rig this election will be for the election to be postponed by a week on the eve of election or very close to that day, knowing fully well that politicians are most vulnerable at that time.

“You have spent all your money, and all spending already done has to start afresh,” she wrote.

Yesufu urged opposition politicians and their supporters to prepare for any possible development ahead of the 2027 elections. However, she warned that the fight against wrongdoing must not lead them to adopt the same methods they oppose.

“Anyway, prepare for all eventuality. If you are fighting evil, you must think evil but have the discipline not to do evil; otherwise, you become what you are fighting,” she said.

The activist further explained that she routinely considers different possible scenarios and develops strategies to minimise their potential impact.

“My business is always to think of all ‘what ifs’ and prepare the strategy to mitigate them; bring it all on,” she added.

Yesufu’s comments reflect her concerns about the possibility of a last-minute election postponement, although she did not provide evidence in the post to establish that such a plan exists.
