Chaos At Kwara Poly: Students Protest, Management Says Campus Calm.

The Kwara State Polytechnic has stated that normal academic activities have resumed on campus following a brief student protest, although online reactions suggest a different version of events.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a press release on March 24, 2026, the institution said the situation had been brought under control after tensions earlier in the day. The Polytechnic explained that the unrest was sparked by the presence of security operatives conducting duties in nearby Agbede village, which reportedly alarmed some students.

Management said a group of students protested by burning tyres along Old Jebba Road before security personnel intervened.

“Management assures the public that normalcy has been fully restored, as students scheduled for morning examinations have been checked in and exams are ongoing,” the statement read. The Polytechnic also emphasized that no students were arrested during the incident and commended security agencies for their swift response.

However, shortly after the statement was shared, many students challenged the official account on social media, raising concerns about alleged arrests and the heavy security presence.

One user, Joseph, described the situation as troubling for youths, saying, “The whole of Kwara State is a mess, but Ilorin as the capital city is the most unpeaceful place for young people.”

Another commenter, DailyWithTao, disputed the claim that no arrests occurred: “Dem no arrest student keh, dey arrest students with 3 buses and carry their cars.”

In a separate post accompanied by a video, Olamilekan Ololade questioned why security operatives were seen chasing students on campus during exam hours. Similarly, a user named theboy asked, “Where’s the part about EFCC coming to pick students from their hostel?”

Other online reactions criticized the Polytechnic’s handling of student welfare. Operepete claimed students were forced to vacate hostels despite ongoing sessions, while Ayomide dismissed the school’s assertion of adequate security, insisting the situation was poorly managed. “Lie, lies, lies. No securities… Why would they have access into the school premises during exam periods?” the user wrote.

Despite the conflicting reports, the Polytechnic maintained that the campus and surrounding areas are safe and urged residents to continue their normal activities.

‘Men In Nigerian Politics Are Ass Lickers’ – Aisha Yesufu Fires At Male Politicians.

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has criticised Nigerian male politicians, describing them as submissive and cowardly while arguing that women in politics are generally bolder and more willing to stand their ground.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Yesufu made the remarks while reacting to a social media post that described Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the state’s “first female governor.”

The post on X featured a video of Fubara declaring the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as the leader of political actors in Rivers State.

Fubara made the declaration on Tuesday during the unveiling of candidates of the Rainbow Coalition for the 2027 elections at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.

During the event, the governor said those who supported him throughout the political crisis in Rivers State should recognise that they now belonged to the same political family under the Rainbow Coalition led by Wike.

He also pledged his full support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and the victory of all Rainbow Coalition candidates in Rivers State in the 2027 elections.

Reacting to the development, Yesufu said Fubara’s actions reflected what she considered a common trait among male politicians, whom she accused of being quick to submit to political leaders.

In her post on X, the activist argued that women in politics were often more courageous and willing to defend their positions, challenging men to demonstrate greater conviction.

She wrote, “That is the typical behavior of Nigerian MEN in politics. They are quick to grovel, ass lickers and very cowardly!!

“The women are usually bolder and can stand their grounds.

“Please own your gender with your full chest!!!!!”

Sani made the statement amid growing scrutiny of his relationship with the former governor.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV’s Daily Politics, the Kaduna governor reaffirmed his deep respect for El-Rufai, stressing that he would not publicise every action he had taken to show his regard for him.

According to Sani, respect for someone does not require making private gestures or acts of support public.

“As a matter of respect, many things I’ve done to show my respect for him, my regard for him, I don’t think I should come out and say it. Because when you respect someone, you don’t come out to say certain things,” he said.

Nigeria Would Be So Rich If Everybody Left Money In The Bank – Peter Obi.

Published

on

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said Nigeria could have accumulated significant wealth if public funds had been consistently kept in banks to generate interest rather than being mismanaged.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Obi made the remark during an interview with a radio station in Nasarawa State on Wednesday.

According to the former Anambra State governor, the country’s financial position would have been considerably stronger if public office holders had protected government funds and allowed them to earn interest in financial institutions.

“I wish everybody in this country left money in the bank; they have interest. Nigeria would have been so rich that we don’t know what to do with money,” he said.

Obi disclosed that his administration kept public funds in three different banks, stressing the importance of safeguarding government resources.

He also criticised what he described as a culture of dishonesty in Nigeria, arguing that individuals who act with integrity are often targeted by those seeking to discredit them.

“Nigeria is a criminalised place. The criminals will always come together to show what the honest person did,” he stated.

The NDC presidential candidate further lamented what he described as a reversal of moral values, where honesty is treated as wrongdoing while criminal conduct appears to be tolerated.

“In Nigeria, to be honest is to be a criminal. To be criminal is to be honest,” Obi said.

He reiterated that Nigeria could have built greater financial reserves if successive leaders had consistently protected public funds and allowed them to generate returns instead of diverting them.

“We would have been worth so much that we don’t know what to do with money,” he added.

Obi also addressed questions about his administration’s approach to publicising government projects, explaining that he believed the results of governance should speak for themselves because the projects were funded with taxpayers’ money.

“We did what we were doing with public money, so the public already see us working, so why are we going to do the ceremony or showing it on TV? Maybe I was wrong, but that was what happened,” he said.

The former governor also defended his record in basic education, maintaining that Anambra State performed exceptionally well in the sector during his tenure.

“I was the best in education, basic education as a governor. You can go and check the records,” Obi said.
