Security was significantly heightened on Tuesday around the Federal High Court in Kaduna ahead of the arraignment of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over alleged corruption-related offences.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

From as early as 7 a.m., heavily armed personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force, Mobile Police, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were deployed to key points leading to the court premises at the old Nigerian Defence Academy.

Vehicular movement in the area was restricted, forcing motorists to navigate a single lane from the Ungwan Sarki axis through Kawo, causing traffic congestion during the early morning rush.

The development followed an earlier announcement by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that El-Rufai would be arraigned before the Federal High Court, Kaduna Judicial Division, on Tuesday.

According to a statement by ICPC’s Head of Media and Public Communications, John Odey, El-Rufai would be arraigned alongside Joel Adoga in suit number FHC/KD/73/2026. The charges include alleged conversion and possession of public property as well as money laundering.

“The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission is set to arraign the former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, and one Joel Adoga at the Federal High Court of Nigeria in the Kaduna Judicial Division on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The charges range from conversion of and possession of public property to money laundering,” the statement read.

The ICPC also revealed that another case has been filed against El-Rufai and Amadu Sule at a Kaduna State High Court (case number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26), covering counts such as abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage. The arraignment date for the state court will be announced later.

Both charges were filed on March 18, 2026, and ICPC confirmed that El-Rufai has been formally served, reiterating its commitment to due process and the rule of law.

The arraignment comes amid growing pressure from stakeholders, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which had earlier called for either El-Rufai’s immediate release or formal arraignment, describing his detention without charges as unconstitutional.

‘Joshua Should Retire Now’ – Hrgovic Sends Strong Warning To Anthony Joshua Ahead Of Fury Fight.

Published

IBF heavyweight champion Filip Hrgovic has advised Anthony Joshua to retire from professional boxing, citing concerns over the former two-time world champion’s recent performances ahead of his proposed clash with Tyson Fury.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Joshua is scheduled to face fellow British boxer Fury in Cardiff on Friday, December 11. However, Hrgovic believes the British-Nigerian fighter should consider ending his career rather than expose himself to further punishment in the ring.

Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, the Croatian boxer suggested that Joshua was approaching the end of his career and might be pursuing the proposed fight largely because of the financial rewards involved.

“He is done; he shouldn’t be fighting anymore, but he wants to do one more fight. I think that he is going to make a huge amount of money and he is doing it because of that, but I think that he shouldn’t be fighting anymore,” Hrgovic said.

Joshua suffered a knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois in 2024 while challenging for the IBF heavyweight title. He returned to action last December and secured a stoppage victory over YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

However, questions about his form resurfaced during his subsequent outing in July, when Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga reportedly knocked him down twice before Joshua recovered to secure a second-round knockout victory.

Since then, Joshua has reunited with former trainer Ben Davison, who previously worked with Fury.

Hrgovic said he was shocked by Joshua’s performance against Prenga, particularly because the former champion had reportedly made significant changes to his preparations ahead of the bout.

“When I saw that last fight, I felt sorry for him because before the fight he said that he shut all of his businesses to focus on boxing. He changed his coach for the 20th time. He started to work with team Usyk; he did everything that he could do, and then he comes to the fight with a journeyman, and he goes down in 10 seconds!

“I couldn’t believe it. I felt sorry for him, and I think he shouldn’t be fighting anymore. Based on how he looked in his last fight, it was a disaster. He is just not there, man,” the Croatian said.

Hrgovic also stressed the dangers associated with professional boxing, arguing that fighters must recognise when their careers have reached a point where continuing to compete could put them at greater risk.

“It is not basketball, it is not soccer. In boxing you come to a point where you can’t fight anymore. It is a dangerous sport, it is a war, and I think that when you come to a point where you can’t fight, you can’t mess around with boxing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hrgovic is expected to make the first defence of his IBF heavyweight title against Frank Sanchez in Croatia in early 2027.

reports that the request was made during a conversation between the singer and the social media couple, who recently announced that they are expecting a child together.

Responding to the request, Tiwa Savage said she would need to pray and seek God’s consent before deciding whether to accept the role.

The singer explained that she believes God should be consulted before making important decisions, stressing that she would want to be certain the request aligns with His will.

She said, “Godmother, let’s think about it. You know what, what I really should do is pray about it because I need to ask God His consent. You know, in everything, we have to go to God in everything we do. So you have to go to God and ask Him first. So, and if God says no, then I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Peller has advised Yoruba and Igbo people to consider marrying partners from other ethnic groups instead of restricting their choices to people from their respective backgrounds.

According to the TikTok star, Yoruba people who marry fellow Yoruba people and Igbo people who prefer partners from their own ethnic group could be missing out on the benefits of relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds.

2027: ‘Tinubu Will Get 25% Votes In All States’ – Adeyanju Declares, Predicts Only Northern Miracle Can Stop Him.

Published

on

Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will defeat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 presidential election, arguing that Tinubu could secure at least 25 per cent of the votes in every state across Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Adeyanju maintained that the President could achieve this even in states such as Adamawa, Atiku’s home state, as well as Anambra, Kano and Oyo.

The activist made the prediction in a post on X on Friday, insisting that no other presidential candidate would be able to match Tinubu’s projected nationwide spread of votes.

Adeyanju wrote, “I see Tinubu defeating Atiku in January because of many reasons but let me highlight only one today. Tinubu will get 25% votes in every state in Nigeria including Adamawa, Anambra, Kano and Oyo. No other candidate can pull such numbers. Read this carefully again.

“It’s only northern Nigeria we should be expecting miracle from. And they have the capacity to do so.”

Tinubu is expected to face Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and other contenders in the 2027 election.

Meanwhile, political commentator Segun Sowunmi has questioned the ability of Atiku and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, to speak credibly on the challenges facing impoverished Nigerians, citing their lengthy political careers and years in public office.

Sowunmi made the remarks during an interview on Vanguard’s Politics Hub, where he discussed Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 election and the opposition’s argument that the contest would be between the ruling party and Nigerians.

He questioned Atiku’s understanding of the difficulties experienced by ordinary Nigerians, pointing to his tenure as vice president under former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.

Sowunmi also accused the former vice president of being disconnected from the struggles of ordinary citizens, describing him as having an “Emir complex”, which he used to portray a powerful figure accustomed to receiving deference from those around him.

He argued that Atiku was not in a position to present himself as a champion of the poor.

Sowunmi said, “Up till today, Atiku was vice president 1999 to 2007, that’s when he stopped his vice presidency.

“Up till today, have you seen vice president that goes around the way Atiku is going around with convoy, in terms of his panache, Atiku is suffering from what you call an Emir complex.

“You know what an Emir complex is? That big man that everybody will just come and say, ‘Dan labayi; ranka dede;’ or an oba complex.

“So he has no capacity to know or empathise with the poor. He is not a patron deity of the poor.”

Sowunmi also criticised Amaechi, arguing that the former Rivers State governor and ex-minister had spent much of his political career in government before recently positioning himself as a voice against poverty.
