“FUT Minna Governing Council: Bosso Campus Will Not Be Ceded Or Shared Despite Student Protests”.
The Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State, has assured students and the university community that there is no plan to cede its Bosso Campus to the Niger State Government.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The reassurance came as protesting students stormed an emergency council meeting held at the Gidan-Kwano Campus along the Minna–Bida road.
Addressing the students, external council member Pastor Timothy Ademola dismissed reports of a planned handover as misinformation, stating: “If anyone told you that the Governing Council is going to give out Bosso campus, I want to assure you that it is not true.”
Ademola clarified that the emergency meeting, convened by Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman Dr. Mohammed Kudu Santuraki, was meant to brief members on the ongoing crisis surrounding the Bosso campus.
“This council will stand on the side of integrity and the law. We have a name to protect. We are not ceding or giving out any of our assets. The Federal Ministry of Education is taking the matter seriously,” he added.
Representing the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, at the meeting, Mrs. Elizabeth Emma-Egoro assured students that the minister remained neutral and committed to peace, integrity, and stability within the university system.
Also speaking, Prof. Shola S. Gabriel, National President of the FUT Minna Alumni Association, urged calm, asking students to allow the council meeting to proceed. “This situation is like someone trying to inherit your property while you are still alive. Let us remain calm and allow due process,” he said.
However, student leaders expressed strong concerns over the role of the Pro-Chancellor in the crisis. SUG President Comrade Adaidu Ezekiel Machofo and Senate President Comrade Dosunmu Abdulmadam accused Dr. Santuraki of alleged collusion with the Niger State Government to cede or share the campus.
They cited a recent Abuja meeting convened by the Minister of Education, following the escalation of the crisis—including the alleged Bosso campus invasion on February 26, 2026—and directives ordering students to vacate the premises. The students claimed Dr. Santuraki initially aligned with the Niger State delegation led by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago before being instructed to rejoin the university team.
The student leaders called for the immediate removal of the Pro-Chancellor, warning that his continued presence could endanger the institution. “We will vehemently resist any attempt by any authority to cede or share the Bosso campus with another institution,” they insisted.
In a related development, Prof. Luqman Kunle Oyewobi, chair of ASUU FUT Minna, criticized the handling of the dispute, noting that a review of Bosso campus ownership issues indicated deviations from established legal and institutional procedures. He stressed that the Federal Ministry of Education must act within the law and under the regulatory oversight of the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Oyewobi warned that any “co-sharing” arrangement not backed by law could undermine university autonomy and set a dangerous precedent. He also expressed concern over alleged threats to the Vice-Chancellor, calling on relevant authorities, including the Presidency and the National Assembly, to ensure due process and safeguard the independence of federal universities.
The crisis over Bosso Campus has intensified tensions within the university community, with students, staff, and stakeholders insisting that the institution’s assets must not be compromised.

‘Tinubu Faces More Hatred Than Buhari’ – Okorocha Makes Revelation About South-East
Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has insisted that President Bola Tinubu has done nothing to offend the Igbo people, expressing confidence that the President will win Imo State in the 2027 general election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Okorocha made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he compared the reception of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu in Imo State and the wider South-East.
The former governor said the All Progressives Congress (APC) experienced its most difficult period in Imo during Buhari’s administration.
“You must understand that when we are talking about APC in Imo State, the time we had issues as APC was when Buhari was in government.
“In fact, the hate for Buhari can’t be compared to the imagery hate for Tinubu in Imo State or in the whole Southeast,” he said.
Okorocha cautioned against confusing dissatisfaction with the state government with opposition to Tinubu, warning that public protests against a governor should not automatically be interpreted as rejection of the President.
“So people must be careful not to mistake a transferred hate or transferred protest for what they don’t want as a governor to mean that it’s a protest against Tinubu,” he stated.
He further argued that Tinubu had maintained cordial relationships with the Igbo, noting that some of his closest associates in Lagos were from the South-East.
The former governor also expressed confidence that his emergence as the APC senatorial candidate for Imo West would strengthen the President’s chances in the state.
“Tinubu has done no wrong to any Igbo man, his best friends in Lagos are Igbos. Let me tell you that, with my emergence now with this ticket, Tinubu will win in Imo State,” he said.
Okorocha also challenged Governor Hope Uzodimma to proceed with his planned appeal against the Federal High Court judgment that declared him the winner of the APC primary for Imo West Senatorial District.
“I challenge Uzodinma to go to appeal, when the facts have spoken you can’t manipulate the law,” he added.

‘Uzodimma Wanted To Be Lawan’s VP’ – Okorocha Reveals Imo Governor’s 2022 Ambition.
Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has alleged that his successor, Governor Hope Uzodimma, sought to become the running mate to former Senate President Ahmad Lawan during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in 2022.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
reports that Okorocha made the allegation on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television, a few hours after a Federal High Court declared him the winner of the APC primary for Imo West Senatorial District.
The former governor claimed that Uzodimma had ambitions for several political positions, including the office of the Vice-President.
“Hope wants to be everything,” Okorocha said, alleging that the Imo governor had attempted to secure the vice-presidential ticket alongside Lawan during the 2022 APC presidential contest.
Okorocha also questioned Uzodimma’s leadership, claiming that residents of Imo State were dissatisfied with his administration.
He accused the governor of failing to address insecurity in the state, alleging that violent attacks had increased under his watch.
The former governor contrasted Uzodimma’s approach to security with that of his own administration, claiming that he handled similar challenges without bloodshed.
Okorocha further advised Uzodimma to accept the Federal High Court’s judgment rather than proceed with an appeal.
“If I were him, let him forget going to appeal. Let him just accept this in good faith because he did not win an election,” he said.
He argued that the court’s decision should not be overturned through what he described as an attempt by one person to manipulate the electoral process.
Okorocha said his comments were aimed at challenging what he considered poor leadership under the Uzodimma administration.

He said backing Tinubu would represent a strategic political alliance capable of creating future opportunities for the region.
reports that Okorocha made the appeal on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television.
The former governor is currently involved in a legal dispute with his successor, Governor Hope Uzodimma, over the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Imo West Senatorial District, with both politicians claiming victory in the party’s primary election.
The APC had submitted Uzodimma’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its candidate, prompting Okorocha to challenge the decision in court.
However, on Thursday, a Federal Capital Territory High Court ruled that Okorocha secured the majority of votes cast in the primary and should be recognised as the winner.
Reacting to the judgment, Okorocha expressed confidence that Tinubu would win Imo State in the 2027 presidential election if he emerged as the APC candidate for Imo West Senatorial District.
“What is important to me now is how Asiwaju will be elected in Imo State. With this, my name coming on the ballot paper now, Asiwaju can be sure that his victory is given in Imo State,” he said.
The former governor welcomed the court ruling, insisting that the judiciary was not for sale.
He also declared that Uzodimma had “met his Waterloo”, alleging that the court had established that the documents presented by the governor were forged.
