Outrage Erupts as Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists Hold Eid Prayers Armed With Rifles In Borno.

Hundreds of fighters from Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) were recently captured in viral footage gathering in large numbers to observe Eid prayers in Borno State, openly carrying assault rifles and other high-powered weapons.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The display has reignited concerns over insecurity in Nigeria’s North-East, as the insurgents conducted prayers in an apparent open field without any signs of interruption.

Eid, a major Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan, is traditionally associated with peace, charity, and communal worship. The sight of heavily armed insurgents participating in such a religious gathering has alarmed residents and security analysts alike.

Multimedia clips released on Saturday by the propaganda platform AZ-ZALLAQA showed dozens of insurgents lined up in formation, holding AK-47 rifles and other sophisticated arms. The footage appears to have been taken at an Eid prayer ground in Borno, the epicenter of insurgency in Nigeria for more than a decade.

The display has sparked outrage and fear, with experts questioning both the operational capacity of these terror groups and the effectiveness of ongoing military efforts in the region. Despite repeated claims by the Federal Government and the military that the insurgents have been “technically defeated,” such incidents continue to challenge that narrative.

Boko Haram and ISWAP have long terrorized Borno and neighbouring states, carrying out deadly attacks, mass abductions, and displacing millions of civilians. Recent violence includes bomb attacks in Maiduguri on March 16, targeting crowded civilian locations such as the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Monday Market, and the central post office.

These attacks, believed to have been carried out by suicide bombers, occurred during sunset when many residents were breaking their Ramadan fast or returning home. Reports indicate that at least 26 people were killed, over 100 others injured, and hospitals in the city were overwhelmed as emergency responders rushed to treat the victims.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.
