“You cannot expect me to name terror financiers. It’s not just about mentioning names—those agencies know why the names remain undisclosed. Action should be taken. These individuals are still within society today, and they are known,” Buratai added.

He emphasized that he takes responsibility only for matters strictly under the Nigerian Army’s jurisdiction.

Buratai also clarified the Army’s role in the rehabilitation of repentant Boko Haram members: “It is the government’s decision, not the Army’s, to rehabilitate repentant Boko Haram members. Back in 2016, we gave them a timeline to surrender; those who complied were given safe passage and handed over to the appropriate agencies for rehabilitation.”

In a post shared on social media, Fayose questioned Atiku’s decision to return to the ballot, arguing that it goes against current political expectations on power rotation.

He claimed that Atiku’s continued ambition would indirectly benefit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, suggesting it could split opposition chances in 2027.

Fayose insisted that it is time for the South to complete its political cycle, adding that Atiku’s repeated bids for the presidency were unfair and out of step with current realities.
