A total of ₦3,936,145,822 was presented on Thursday, March 18, 2026, at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja. The presentation was made by the Commission’s Secretary, Mohammed Hammajoda, on behalf of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, during a brief ceremony attended by officials from both organizations.
Hammajoda explained that the recovered funds resulted from detailed investigations into fraudulent activities involving some personnel within the national oil company. He reiterated the commission’s commitment to tackling economic and financial crimes across Nigeria.
“On behalf of the Executive Chairman, we will continue to put ourselves on the line to serve over 220 million Nigerians. Along the way, many of our colleagues have paid the price, and others will still pay as we continue our work with courage and integrity,” he said.
“We will serve and continue to serve this country. So, on behalf of the EFCC, I present the sum of Three Billion, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Six Million, One Hundred and Forty-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred and Twenty-Two Naira to you.”
The funds were received by NNPCL’s Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, who expressed gratitude to the EFCC for its role in the recovery.
“NNPC has faced many challenges over the years, and we have always sought to correct the system. When this recovery opportunity arose, handled by your team, it was something I was very proud of,” Dagazau said.
“I am also pleased that we could partner with EFCC for this process. This is a great day for us, and we will continue to rely on your assistance. This demonstrates a real commitment to moving forward.”
