‘Tinubu Still Our Leader!’ – Ademola Adeleke Fires Back Amid Osun APC Clash.

Published

on

The Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, stating that he would actively work to ensure the President secures a second term.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, Adeleke emphasized that the ongoing political crisis over control of local government councils in Osun State would not affect his endorsement. The governor made the declaration during a meeting with cabinet members, special advisers, and senior government officials at the Government House in Osogbo, as confirmed in a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Tuesday.

The meeting, attended by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, Adeleke’s sister Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, and other stakeholders, saw Adeleke insist that his state-level political disagreements do not extend to the presidency. “We have no problem with President Tinubu. He is our leader. He represents the South West,” Adeleke said. “I restate our endorsement of Mr President for re-election in the best interest of the South West.”

The governor also expressed gratitude to residents for their support following his defection to the Accord Party, noting that the party’s influence continues to grow. “Osun has become yellow, and this is even spreading beyond the state. Our local chapters are organising weekly activities that are attracting thousands of participants,” he said.

Adeleke assured citizens of improved governance and pledged to consolidate ongoing development initiatives if re-elected. “We will redouble our efforts in delivering democratic dividends. Our upgraded agenda will focus more on youth, women, and workers, while consolidating gains in infrastructure, agro-industrialisation, education, and healthcare,” he added.

He directed aides and party members to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the state’s 332 wards, urging them to capitalise on the party’s growing popularity. “Go out and build on the popularity of Accord. Solidify our grassroots support and prepare for open campaigns,” Adeleke said.

Despite his endorsement of Tinubu, Adeleke remains embroiled in a prolonged dispute with the All Progressives Congress over control of local government councils in Osun. The crisis stems from rival claims following the October 2022 local government elections under former governor Adegboyega Oyetola. Chairmen elected during that process, mostly from the APC, resumed office in February 2025 based on a Court of Appeal ruling in Akure. Meanwhile, the Adeleke administration conducted a separate local government election on February 22, 2025, won by candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The dispute has led to violent clashes between supporters of both parties, resulting in the deaths of at least six individuals, including a local government chairman, Remi Abbas. Both political camps are now seeking judicial validation of their mandates as tensions continue to escalate across the state.

Momodu Defends Atiku Amid Age Criticism Ahead Of 2027 Presidential Contest.

Published

on

ADC chieftain and publisher, Dele Momodu, has dismissed calls for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race, describing the push as unfair and politically motivated.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Momodu was reacting to comments by activist Zekeri Idris Jnr, a supporter of Peter Obi, who urged Atiku to step aside over concerns about his age, which would be about 80 by 2027.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Momodu said attention should be focused on holding the government accountable rather than targeting Atiku’s political ambition.

The exchange followed a viral video where Idris insisted that Atiku should support younger aspirants instead of contesting, arguing that voters would not back an elderly candidate.

Idris also suggested that Atiku should act as a statesman and support younger politicians such as Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and others.

Responding, Momodu cited several world leaders who held office at advanced ages, arguing that experience should not be dismissed in leadership discussions.

He questioned what should disqualify Atiku from contesting, insisting that age alone is not a valid reason.

Atiku, who lost the 2023 presidential election to President Bola Tinubu, is reportedly considering another run in 2027 under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
