“DESOPADEC Boss Ejele: Here’s Why I’ll Sack Thomas Onowakpo From The Senate”.
Michael Diden, popularly known as ‘Ejele’ and a former Board Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has declared his intention to unseat Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, the current representative of Delta South in the Senate, in the 2027 elections. Ejele, who is embracing the new political reform allowing all card-carrying members to participate in candidate selection during primaries, stated that the people of Delta South are ready for a change. “The people have compared the records of the present senator and Michael Diden. There is a strong desire everywhere for Michael Diden in the Senate. He is the only one who can represent us effectively,” he said.
Recalling the 2023 elections in which he contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ejele noted that he won seven local government areas compared to Onowakpo-Thomas’ single victory. “This time, it will be 8/8, winning all eight local government areas in Delta South Senatorial District,” he asserted.
