FRSC Recovers ₦3.7 Million, Valuables After Fatal Kaduna Crash.

Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at the Zaria Unit Command in Kaduna State have successfully recovered and returned ₦3,727,500 in cash along with valuables worth approximately ₦500,000 following a fatal road accident.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, the crash occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, along the Zaria–Funtua Highway near Zaria Academy. The collision involved a Toyota Corolla and a Peugeot 806 carrying nine passengers. One passenger died at the scene, while the remaining eight sustained injuries of varying severity.

In a statement on Monday, FRSC Public Education Officer Felicia Kalu confirmed that rescue teams responded promptly to a distress call from the accident site, providing immediate first aid before transferring the injured victims to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, for urgent medical attention.

Kalu added that during rescue and post-crash clearance operations, personnel discovered scattered cash and valuables at the crash site. “Demonstrating exceptional discipline and moral courage, the officers carefully secured ₦3,727,500 and other valuables, ensuring they were protected until they could be returned to their rightful owners,” the statement read.

The recovered money and valuables were formally handed over to the victims on Monday under the supervision of Zaria Unit Commander, Chief Route Commander Nasiru Falgore, in the presence of victims’ relatives and witnesses.

Reacting to the recovery, FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed praised the Zaria Unit officers for their honesty and professionalism, emphasizing that their conduct reflects the corps’ core values of integrity, accountability, and dedication to public service. Beneficiaries of the recovered items expressed gratitude for the officers’ prompt rescue response and ethical handling of their property.

He also approved an amendment extending the lifespan of the 2025 budget from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to ensure completion of ongoing capital projects nationwide.

Under the 2026 fiscal plan, ₦4.799 trillion is set aside for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent spending, while ₦32.2 trillion goes to capital projects—about half of the total budget.

The focus, according to the administration, is on infrastructure development, security, and growth-driven investments aimed at improving living standards.
