The English Football Association (FA) has imposed a £10.75 million fine on Chelsea FC and issued a suspended first-team transfer ban after the club was found to have breached financial regulations during Roman Abramovich’s ownership.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, the sanctions follow an extensive Premier League investigation into undisclosed payments linked to player transfers between 2011 and 2018. The FA confirmed that Chelsea also received a nine-month academy transfer ban, while a one-year first-team transfer ban has been suspended for two years.

The probe examined multiple payments made to offshore companies connected with transfers, with at least six transactions flagged as suspicious. These seven-figure payments were not reported in financial documents submitted by the club to football authorities at the time. Transfers under scrutiny include deals involving Eden Hazard“], Samuel Eto’o Andreas Christensen Todd Boehly during its 2022 takeover of the London club. The new owners reported the findings to the Premier League, the FA, and UEFA after reviewing historical financial records.

English and European football clubs are required to submit accurate annual financial reports to governing bodies, which form the basis for compliance checks under financial fair play and other regulatory frameworks. UEFA had previously fined Chelsea £8.64 million in July 2023 for incomplete financial reporting covering the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

While UEFA’s five-year statute of limitations restricted its investigation, the Premier League has no such limit, enabling officials to review transactions dating back more than a decade.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.
