“What Kind Of Madness Is This?” – Chris Okafor Slams Nigerian Police.
Embattled Nigerian pastor Chris Okafor has accused the Nigerian police of failing to properly investigate allegations made against him by certain individuals, including Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who accused him of sexual misconduct.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking to journalists at his Ojodu church in Lagos, Okafor insisted he had never committed any crime and questioned why the police summoned him for questioning without first summoning those who made the allegations.
The pastor said he initially avoided attending the police investigation because he discovered that 50 journalists were waiting to interview him on the day of his scheduled appearance.
He said, “The police announced they were looking for me. I am a public figure, I attend this church daily, and I have never committed a crime in my life. I have traveled to over 46 countries and have no criminal record anywhere. When I learned that 50 journalists were waiting for me on Monday, I decided not to go. I went on Tuesday when they weren’t expecting me.
“When I arrived, I met with the Deputy Commissioner of Police who welcomed me. I asked why I was summoned and if there was a petition against me. They said it was because of things they saw online. What kind of madness is that? Why not investigate those making the claims, gather evidence, and then summon me? Instead, they publicized the case without facts—it’s nonsense. Later, they admitted there was no evidence and suspended the case.
“There are armed robbery and kidnapping cases every day—why aren’t they investigating those? I concluded that people were behind this against me. Am I really so powerful that I could commit such a crime and still walk free? I asked if the accusers had been summoned, and they said no. If they haven’t been questioned, why call me in? Is it just to show that the popular man of God was invited? What is the point of all this?”
