“Toyin Abraham Tells Timini Egbuson: ‘Stay Out of Politics’”.
Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has advised her colleague, Timini Egbuson, to stay away from politics.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The advice came while she was explaining to Egbuson how to ensure a movie performs well at the Box Office.
Toyin revealed that her open support for President Bola Tinubu during the last election had negatively affected her career. She urged Egbuson to remain neutral and avoid publicly endorsing anyone.
She said, “The first advice I will give you in my entire life is don’t put your mouth in politics. Don’t tell them you’re supporting anybody. Don’t support anybody, just be on your own. Be neutral.”
When Timini reminded her of her active support for Tinubu, she replied, “That was then.”
Toyin also highlighted the personal impact of her political stance on her work, exclaiming, “Haaaaaaa, it affected me oooo.”
Reports indicate that in 2024, Abraham had lamented after her movie Ijakumo (Born-Again Stripper) was allegedly being widely shared on WhatsApp without proper revenue returns.
She further expressed frustration over poor reviews of Ijakumo, saying, “You all will tell the world why choosing my own candidate is a crime and yours is not.”
Her comments came after netizens threatened to boycott her movie due to her campaigning for Tinubu.
