Tinubu Tells Media: “Don’t Target My Government Alone”.

Speaking on Friday at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja while hosting media executives and proprietors, he urged the media to hold states and local governments accountable alongside the federal administration.
Tinubu highlighted that greater financial autonomy has been given to local governments and stressed that how these funds are used is a matter for public scrutiny.
“We’ve strengthened federalism so local governments now receive their funds. But how they use it is in your hands,” he said. “So don’t focus on me alone; monitor local governments too.”
He added: “We may feel it’s not enough and that we haven’t reached where we should be, but we must manage what we have to sustain today, survive tomorrow, and make progress.”
Noting that no state is currently borrowing to pay salaries, Tinubu reaffirmed his dedication to improving the nation. “The work I do is with patriotic dedication. Improving Nigeria is in all our hands; it’s a collective responsibility,” he concluded.

He added that the necessary commercial and economic environment was never established, and empty buildings were commissioned without securing anchor tenants beforehand.
