Bayern Munich moved closer to the Champions League quarter-finals with a dominant 6-1 victory over Atalanta on Tuesday, March 10. Marcos Llorente opened the scoring after six minutes, followed by goals from Antoine Griezmann, Julian Alvarez, and Robin Le Normand inside the first 22 minutes. Pedro Porro and substitute Dominic Solanke scored for Spurs, but Alvarez added a fifth for Atletico, leaving the English side with a mountain to climb in the return leg.

2027: ‘Tinubu Will Get 25% Votes In All States’ – Adeyanju Declares, Predicts Only Northern Miracle Can Stop Him.

Published

on

Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will defeat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 presidential election, arguing that Tinubu could secure at least 25 per cent of the votes in every state across Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Adeyanju maintained that the President could achieve this even in states such as Adamawa, Atiku’s home state, as well as Anambra, Kano and Oyo.

The activist made the prediction in a post on X on Friday, insisting that no other presidential candidate would be able to match Tinubu’s projected nationwide spread of votes.

Adeyanju wrote, “I see Tinubu defeating Atiku in January because of many reasons but let me highlight only one today. Tinubu will get 25% votes in every state in Nigeria including Adamawa, Anambra, Kano and Oyo. No other candidate can pull such numbers. Read this carefully again.

“It’s only northern Nigeria we should be expecting miracle from. And they have the capacity to do so.”

Tinubu is expected to face Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and other contenders in the 2027 election.

Meanwhile, political commentator Segun Sowunmi has questioned the ability of Atiku and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, to speak credibly on the challenges facing impoverished Nigerians, citing their lengthy political careers and years in public office.

Sowunmi made the remarks during an interview on Vanguard’s Politics Hub, where he discussed Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 election and the opposition’s argument that the contest would be between the ruling party and Nigerians.

He questioned Atiku’s understanding of the difficulties experienced by ordinary Nigerians, pointing to his tenure as vice president under former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.

Sowunmi also accused the former vice president of being disconnected from the struggles of ordinary citizens, describing him as having an “Emir complex”, which he used to portray a powerful figure accustomed to receiving deference from those around him.

He argued that Atiku was not in a position to present himself as a champion of the poor.

Sowunmi said, “Up till today, Atiku was vice president 1999 to 2007, that’s when he stopped his vice presidency.

“Up till today, have you seen vice president that goes around the way Atiku is going around with convoy, in terms of his panache, Atiku is suffering from what you call an Emir complex.

“You know what an Emir complex is? That big man that everybody will just come and say, ‘Dan labayi; ranka dede;’ or an oba complex.

“So he has no capacity to know or empathise with the poor. He is not a patron deity of the poor.”

Sowunmi also criticised Amaechi, arguing that the former Rivers State governor and ex-minister had spent much of his political career in government before recently positioning himself as a voice against poverty.

‘Do You Think You’re Good Enough?’ – Jarvis, Peller Clash Over Family And Relationship During Livestream.

Published

on

Popular TikTok content creators Peller and Jarvis have clashed during a livestream over Peller’s claim that he serves as a father figure to Jarvis’ younger sister.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The disagreement reportedly began when Peller insisted that he and Jarvis had parental responsibilities towards her younger sister, arguing that his age qualified him to take on such a role.

During the livestream, Peller maintained that they should have a say in the young woman’s upbringing and future, including the choice of a husband.

He said, “Babe, listen, I’m her father and you are her mother. Your sister is a child. I’m older than her. Me, 21 years. In Lagos, we are her father and mother. We are the ones that will pick a husband for her. Let’s say I have a big stature and I’m 30 years old. If I say I’m a father to your sister.”

However, Jarvis strongly disagreed, pointing out that her younger sister already had a father and insisting that Peller had no right to dictate how she should live.

She questioned his involvement in her sister’s affairs, stressing that she was responsible for guiding her younger sibling.

“What concerns you with my sister? Leave her alone. It’s me that will tell her what to do. You cannot force her to come on live. Leave her alone, it’s not her calling,” Jarvis said.

The content creator also warned Peller against dragging her sister into their disagreements, suggesting that she could equally bring his own brother into the discussion.

“Babe, stop this thing, or you want me to mention your brother? You want me to say that I’m taking care of your brother, that I’m the mother to your brother?” she asked.

Jarvis further challenged Peller’s suggestion that he and her family should have a role in choosing her sister’s future husband.

She questioned whether her family would have selected Peller as her partner if they had been responsible for choosing a man for her.

“Do you think if my family wanted to pick a man for me, do you think they would pick you?” she asked.

Jarvis subsequently appealed to Peller to stop involving her younger sister in the dispute and concentrate on their own child instead.

“Please, can we take my sister out of this conversation? With all due respect, focus on your own child. You are concerned about another adult. Leave my sister out of the picture, please,” she added.

Peller, however, maintained that Jarvis’ response could encourage her younger sister to disrespect him.

“Na you go make that girl to start disrespecting me,” he said before telling Jarvis to leave the call.

Man City Fans Get Major Update As Maresca Vows To Revive Phil Foden’s Career.

Published

on

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has promised to help Phil Foden rediscover his best form after the midfielder scored four goals in two matches, ending a lengthy goal drought.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Foden had gone 10 months without finding the net before scoring in City’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich last weekend. The England international followed up that performance with a hat-trick in Tuesday’s 5-1 Champions League win over AEK Athens.

The 26-year-old enjoyed the most prolific season of his career in 2023/24, scoring 27 goals across all competitions and winning the Premier League Player of the Season award.

However, he has struggled to maintain that level over the past two seasons and has previously spoken publicly about his mental health challenges.

Maresca, who took charge of City in June, revealed that he had held several discussions with Foden to reassure the midfielder of his importance to the team.

“Since we started, I sat down with Phil two or three times, especially at the beginning. Just to show him, I don’t know if love is the right word to use, but just to show him how important he is,” Maresca said.

The Italian manager added that he had known Foden for years and understood that the midfielder had experienced difficulties over the past few seasons.

He stressed that helping players improve was a crucial part of his responsibility, noting that a stronger individual performance would ultimately benefit the entire team.

“So for me, I think it’s my duty to try to help Phil to be again one of the best players in England,” Maresca stated.

Maresca has enjoyed an impressive start at the Etihad Stadium, winning his first seven Premier League matches in charge of a new club. City’s only defeat under the Italian came against reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain in a 4-2 Champions League loss.

Despite their positive results, City continue to face uncertainty over their financial future as they challenge a guilty verdict relating to more than 100 alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules. Potential sanctions could include a points deduction or relegation if the club fails to overturn the verdict.

Nevertheless, Maresca insisted that the squad remained focused on its performances despite the uncertainty surrounding the club.

“In any club, when you lose important players, many important players, and you lose the manager after 10 years, it always takes time to compete again,” he said on October 22.

“But this organisation last summer changed many important players, changed the manager after 10 years, and we are competing at the moment.”

Manchester City are scheduled to travel to Aston Villa on Saturday, with striker Erling Haaland expected to return after missing the AEK Athens match because of a foot injury sustained against Ipswich.

Haaland has scored 12 goals in nine appearances this season, while Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic and Nico O’Reilly remain injury doubts ahead of the trip.
