“EFCC Snags John Terhemba Tsoho’s Wife With $160,000 Cash – Allegations Fly”.
The wife of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, was reportedly intercepted by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives while en route to Benue State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sources who spoke with Sahara Reporters stated that she was returned to Abuja after officials allegedly discovered $160,000 in cash in her possession.
“She was intercepted by EFCC operatives while travelling to Benue State and later brought back to Abuja. $160,000 was reportedly found with her at the point of interception,” a source revealed.
Details regarding the purpose of her trip and the origin of the funds have not been officially clarified.
This development comes amid increasing scrutiny of Justice Tsoho over alleged violations of asset declaration rules. The Chief Judge is expected to appear before the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on March 16, 2026, following claims that he failed to disclose certain assets.
A petition against him alleges that several bank accounts, including three with United Bank for Africa and one with Access Bank, were not declared as required by law. Should the CCB find a prima facie case, formal charges could be brought before the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Convictions under Nigerian law can result in penalties such as removal from office, disqualification from holding public office for up to 10 years, and forfeiture of undisclosed assets.
In a statement issued last Monday, Catherine Christopher, Director of Information at the Federal High Court, affirmed that Justice Tsoho remains willing to cooperate fully with the bureau.
“The Federal High Court of Nigeria wishes to clarify that the Honourable Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, remains fully committed to cooperating with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in respect of its invitation,” the statement read.
The court added that the Chief Judge would appear alongside his legal representative, Kanu Godwin Agabi, CON, SAN, who is currently abroad for medical reasons. “In accordance with his constitutional right to consult and be represented by counsel of his choice, his legal representative has indicated readiness to accompany the Honourable Chief Judge to the Bureau upon his return to Nigeria,” the statement noted.
The CCB’s invitation follows an investigation which alleged that Justice Tsoho failed to declare multiple bank accounts in his asset declaration submitted on April 29, 2024. Under Section 15 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, public officers must disclose all assets, liabilities, and bank accounts, including domiciliary accounts. Non-disclosure or false declarations constitute a breach of the law.
Justice Tsoho has denied the allegations, maintaining that he complied with all legal requirements for asset declaration.
As of this report, neither the EFCC nor the Chief Judge’s office has issued an official statement regarding the reported interception or the alleged discovery of the cash.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
