The ceremony, held on Friday in Ikeja, Lagos State, was led by the state APC chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, who urged the officials to carry out their duties with dedication and unwavering loyalty to the party’s principles.

Speaking to the new executives, Ojelabi highlighted the importance of unity among members, cautioning against actions that could cause division as the party prepares for future political contests, particularly the 2027 general elections.

He described the swearing-in as a key milestone in strengthening the party’s internal structure and gearing it up for upcoming electoral activities.

“We found you worthy to be elected to oversee the party’s affairs for the next four years. Your role is crucial for the growth and consolidation of the party,” Ojelabi said.

The chairman emphasized that APC’s enduring dominance in Lagos politics has largely been built on a robust grassroots network. He urged the newly inaugurated executives to maintain and expand this foundation in their respective areas.

“The responsibility before you is significant. You must perform your duties diligently and remain committed to the party’s ideals,” he added.

Ojelabi also stressed the need for harmony among party leaders and stakeholders, warning against conduct that could threaten internal cohesion.

He reminded the executives that they were elected through a democratic process and must work collectively to deepen the party’s influence in their wards and local government areas.

Noting the critical timing of their assumption of office, Ojelabi stated that their leadership would play a pivotal role in consolidating the APC’s achievements in Lagos over the years. He advised them to collaborate closely with local government party leadership and intensify grassroots mobilization efforts.

“Work begins immediately. Inform your local government leadership that you have been sworn in and join forces to strengthen the party’s structure,” he said.

The APC chairman assured the executives of the support of both the party’s leadership and the state government, reiterating the party’s commitment to inclusive participation and grassroots development. He underscored that strong leadership at the ward and local government levels remains vital to sustaining APC’s political strength in Lagos State.
