CAN Applauds Gov Uba Sani, Offers Prayers For His Leadership.
The Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has praised Governor Uba Sani as a responsive leader who has been delivering on his promises since taking office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The CAN Chairman, Rev. Caleb Ma’aji, made the remarks on Wednesday while attending a Ramadan breaking of fast hosted by the Governor at the Government House.
Rev. Ma’aji recalled that during last year’s event, CAN requested the restoration of government-sponsored Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem, which had been suspended in 2015. He noted that Governor Sani had promised to investigate the suspension before taking action.
“This year, 49 pilgrims have traveled to Jerusalem and returned safely. One person missed the trip due to a name mix-up, but will soon journey to the Holy Land,” he said.
The CAN Chairman also highlighted ongoing road projects, including PAN Drive-Television Garage-Sabon Tasha, Samrada-Romi-Karatudu Gonin Gora, and Nasarawa-UNTL-Zenith Bank Kakuri roads. “These roads are being constructed to high standards, with proper asphalt and drainage,” Rev. Ma’aji added.
He assured that Christians will continue praying for Governor Sani, asking God to grant him wisdom, divine grace, and skill to lead Kaduna State to greater heights. He noted that the Governor has already achieved significant milestones in his two and a half years in office.
Bishop Joseph Yari, former Chairman of the Kaduna State Christians Pilgrims Welfare Board, also commended the Governor for restoring state-sponsored pilgrimage. Speaking as a participant, Bishop Yari said the Kaduna State contingent prayed for peace in both Nigeria and the state during their visit to Jerusalem.
In response, Governor Uba Sani said reinstating the pilgrimage aligns with his administration’s commitment to justice, equity, and fairness. He pledged to restore Kaduna State to its former status as a place where diverse ethnic and religious groups live peacefully and pursue their livelihoods in harmony.
The Governor expressed concern over the state’s declining reputation as a “home for all Nigerians” due to years of ethno-religious conflicts, vowing to reverse the trend.
Governor Sani explained that he hosts Iftar annually with religious leaders and stakeholders to receive feedback on government policies and programs. This year’s gathering was especially significant as Muslims observe fasting while Christians mark Lent.
He called on religious leaders to support his administration and President Bola Tinubu to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends and sustainable development for the people of Kaduna State.
