How Israel-US Hacked Traffic Cameras & Used AI To Track and Kill Iran’s Supreme Leader.

Published

on

Israeli officials have disclosed that the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was the culmination of years of intelligence collection, surveillance, and advanced technological tracking that paved the way for a highly precise strike on his location.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Officials quoted by CNN said the mission depended on a sophisticated intelligence framework that combined data from multiple channels, including surveillance cameras positioned throughout Tehran.

An Israeli source revealed that traffic cameras across the Iranian capital were instrumental in tracking movements within the city. The cameras, reportedly compromised years earlier, gave operatives real-time visuals, enabling them to chart the city in detail, detect movement patterns, and assemble a comprehensive understanding of activities inside Tehran.

The surveillance network was said to be part of a broader intelligence structure feeding into an artificial intelligence–driven targeting platform, described by officials as an AI-powered “target production machine.”

The system reportedly analyzed various intelligence streams, including visual data, human intelligence, signals intelligence, intercepted communications, and satellite imagery. From this integration, it generated a precise 14-digit grid coordinate pinpointing the intended target.

Developed over more than a decade, the platform was supported by teams of technologists, engineers, and data analysts who reviewed and verified the strike recommendations produced by the AI system.

Israel had previously used the intelligence framework to monitor senior Iranian officials. During the 12-day conflict with Iran in June 2025, the Israel Defense Forces reportedly deployed the technology in its initial strike, which killed Iran’s top military commander, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, along with a close aide to Khamenei.

The operation that targeted Khamenei was reportedly carried out on February 28, 2026, in a joint effort involving Israel and the United States.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the Iranian leader had long been viewed as “untouchable” due to his frequent use of underground bunkers and strict communication avoidance.

Ahead of the mission, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held discussions with US President Donald Trump on February 11. According to CNN, the talks centered on potential scenarios should diplomatic negotiations with Iran collapse.

At 3:38 p.m. Eastern Time, Trump reportedly gave the green light for the operation. Senior US military officer Gen. Dan Caine confirmed the authorization, stating that “Operation Epic Fury” had been approved as a daylight strike executed by Israeli forces with support from the US Intelligence Community.

The strike relied on surveillance feeds from Tehran’s cameras and other intelligence inputs to determine the exact moment Khamenei would be at his compound. AI-generated mapping of the compound and surrounding areas reportedly exposed a temporary security vulnerability when the Iranian leader was believed to be less protected.

Sources said the attack was conducted during daylight after monitoring communications among senior aides and security officials.

Within hours, Israeli authorities indicated early signs that the mission had succeeded. Confirmation followed when Iran’s state broadcaster announced that the country’s Supreme Leader had “reached martyrdom.”
