Lagos Crash: 1 Dead, 3 Critically Injured After Truck Collides With Tricycle.
A deadly road accident at Aiyetoro Junction, near the Traffic Light corridor in Epe, Lagos, has claimed one life and left three others critically injured. The crash involved a yam-laden truck and a commercial tricycle.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the truck (AGL 764 XB), coming from Ijebu-Ode, attempted a U-turn into Eleko when the driver reportedly lost control, colliding violently with the stationary tricycle (SMK 127 QR).
The impact killed one person on the spot and severely injured three occupants of the tricycle.
LASTMA operatives, on routine duty nearby, responded quickly alongside the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Police Force, Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, and military personnel. The three critically injured victims were rescued from the wreckage and taken to General Hospital, Epe, for treatment. The deceased was also conveyed to the hospital.
Security agencies managed the scene, ensuring traffic flow was restored along the corridor.
General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He called for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident and ensure that anyone found responsible is held accountable.
LASTMA reaffirmed its commitment to road safety and continued coordination with relevant agencies to prevent similar incidents.
