Father Of Missing 40-Year-Old demands Police Produce Son “Dead Or Alive”.

Published

on

Seventy-four-year-old Francis Azenabor opened up to GRACE EDEMA about the anguish and frustration of not knowing the fate of his son, Osas, who was arrested by police in Ketu, Lagos State, 15 months ago.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Background
Azenabor, a retired technician from Ego Nyemi, Ishan in Edo State, explained that on November 1, 2024, he was informed by his daughter-in-law in Ikorodu that Osas had been arrested at Ketu Police Station during a raid at his workplace. A witness, who collects daily contributions from transporters, helped Osas contact his wife using a phone, telling her to come quickly to bail him as they were about to be moved.

Search Efforts
By the time she reached the station, Osas had already been taken elsewhere. His wife checked multiple stations, including Ogudu and Mafoluku, without success. Azenabor and his wife then personally visited Mafoluku Police Station, the Task Force office in Oshodi, and Badagry Prison Yard, but Osas was nowhere to be found.

Tracing the Arresting Officer
Using the contact of the witness who lent Osas a phone, Azenabor tracked down the officer responsible. Attempts to confront the officer and get information about Osas were met with hostility. Even after reporting to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the matter was dismissed, forcing Azenabor to hire a lawyer and escalate the case.

Police Responses
At the command headquarters, SP Abacho David admitted that a raid had been conducted and four people were arrested but denied that Osas was among them. Azenabor says senior officers continue to ignore his claims and treat the matter with indifference.

Impact on the Family
Osas, 40, is a father of three. His absence has left the family struggling financially, with his wife unable to send the children to school. Azenabor says the ongoing search has been exhausting, and the family continues to face uncertainty.

Appeal
“I am begging the Nigeria Police, the government, and all Nigerians to help me find my son. It is almost two years now. If he is alive, they should let me see him. If something has happened, I deserve to know. I cannot continue being passed from one office to another without answers,” Azenabor pleaded.

He added that the police have asked him to return to the State CID again, but he remains unsure why.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.
