UK Evacuates Tehran Embassy Staff As US-Iran Military Confrontation Fears Grow.

The United Kingdom has temporarily withdrawn staff from its embassy in Tehran amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, as several countries issue travel warnings across the Middle East.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The UK Foreign Office called the move a “precautionary measure,” adding that its embassy in Iran’s capital continues to operate remotely.

Meanwhile, the US embassy in Israel advised some non-essential staff and their families on Friday to leave the country, with Ambassador Mike Huckabee urging those who wish to depart to “do so TODAY,” according to the New York Times.

China, India, and Canada have also told their citizens to leave Iran due to the risk of hostilities. Huckabee reportedly stressed that there is “no need to panic,” but those planning to leave should act quickly. The embassy website noted that staff “may wish to consider leaving Israel while commercial flights are available.”

The announcements come a day after US-Iran talks in Geneva aimed at averting war over Iran’s nuclear programme. Oman’s mediator described the discussions as showing “significant progress,” while Iran called the talks “good progress.” The United States has yet to issue an official response.

In the meantime, the US government ordered all non-essential personnel to leave its embassy in Beirut following a security review. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit Israel on Monday to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and discuss regional priorities, including Iran.

Tensions have escalated as the US and allies suspect Iran is advancing toward nuclear weapons—a claim Iran denies. President Donald Trump has threatened military action if no deal is reached and has deployed the largest US military presence in the Middle East since 2003, including aircraft carriers, warships, fighter jets, and refuelling planes.

Vice President JD Vance told the Washington Post that strikes remain an option, though the preference is for diplomacy. Trump previously set a 10-day deadline to reach a nuclear deal, warning that failure could lead to military action.

The situation continues to unfold as nations prepare for possible escalation while diplomatic channels remain active.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.

The legal notice maintained that the allegations were baseless and intended to damage the reputations of the two entertainers.
