The Ademola Adeleke-led administration has come under fresh criticism as the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State demanded the resignation of the governor’s Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye, over alleged links to a reported ₦13.7 billion payroll fraud.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the party said the controversy surrounding the alleged payroll scam had deepened public anxiety about the current government.

Olabisi accused Akinleye of bringing significant embarrassment to the state and urged him to vacate his position without delay.

The APC cited allegations reportedly made by Saadat Ottun, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sally Tibbot Consulting Limited, which have gained traction on social media platforms.

According to the statement, the party claimed the governor’s administration has struggled because key officials overseeing critical sectors allegedly lack the required managerial competence.

The opposition party described Akinleye as unsuitable for the role of Chief of Staff, arguing that his continued stay in office has eroded public trust in the state government.

“It is unacceptable that someone like Akinleye occupies such a strategic position in the Osun State Government,” the statement noted, describing the development as disrespectful to residents of the state.

The APC also drew comparisons between the incumbent Chief of Staff and former occupants of the office, including Elder Peter Babalola, who served under Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Gboyega Oyetola, who held the position during the administration of Rauf Aregbesola.

The party maintained that there was no basis for comparison between previous office holders and the current Chief of Staff, insisting that Akinleye had overstepped his responsibilities and allegedly used his office for personal gain.

It concluded by reiterating its call for his immediate resignation, stating that he had caused considerable damage to the image of the state.
