The reception, held at Ochacho’s residence in Otukpo, was attended by prominent party figures, including the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri, who led other APC stalwarts to receive the new member.
Ochacho’s induction into the APC was facilitated by his younger brother, Hon. Alex Enokela Ogbe, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, who had previously defected to the ruling party.
During the event, Ogiri hailed Ochacho’s entry as a significant boost for the APC in Otukpo and across the state. He expressed confidence that Ochacho’s grassroots influence and dedication to community development would further strengthen the party’s structure and unity.
Ogiri emphasized that the APC welcomes progressive-minded individuals committed to the growth, stability, and development of Benue State. He noted that Ochacho’s decision to join the party signals increasing confidence in APC leadership and direction.
The council chairman also praised Ogbe for facilitating his brother’s entry into the party, assuring that all members would enjoy a level playing field within the APC.
Speaking at the gathering, Ochacho explained that his move was motivated by a desire to align with a platform capable of delivering meaningful development to the people of Otukpo and beyond. He reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment, infrastructure advancement, and policies that directly benefit local communities.
Ogbe added: “Today, I returned home to engage with family and APC members in Otukpo and to introduce my appointment by His Excellency, the President and Grand Patron, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and our Patron, Barrister Sheyi Tinubu, as the State Coordinator of Benue State for the City Boys Movement.
“The City Boys Movement is a youth-focused initiative aimed at mobilizing and empowering young people across all 36 states of Nigeria, providing them a strong platform to participate in shaping the future. Our mission is unity in Benue and tackling pressing challenges like insecurity.
“This appointment allows me to ensure that young people are heard. I plan to establish grassroots structures, identify local issues, and work to resolve as many as possible. We will amplify the voices of youths, especially on critical matters such as insecurity, empowering them to not only protect themselves but also advocate for their communities.”
DAILY POST reports that ahead of the 2027 general elections, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been garnering support from socialites and celebrities through the City Boys Movement.
Notable figures, including Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana), Pascal Okechukwu (Cubana Chief Priest), Cletus Oragwa (Zenco), Yul Edochie, Emmanuel Philip, Bolanle Ninilowo, Zack Orji, Adeniyi Johnson, and Seyi Law, have publicly thrown their weight behind Tinubu.

He said the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen climate resilience, tackle environmental degradation, and promote sustainable land use in the state.
Speaking at the ACReSAL mid-term review meeting in Kaduna through the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Abubakar Buba, the governor explained that the use of geospatial tools has made it possible to accurately identify affected areas for targeted intervention.
He added that the project is not only focused on land recovery but also on boosting agricultural output and improving livelihoods in affected communities.
Sani also noted that the state is supporting the programme with empowerment initiatives, including training over 500 women, youths, and school feeding vendors in biomass briquette production.
According to him, the effort is already helping to reduce dependence on firewood while creating alternative sources of income for beneficiaries.

He also approved an amendment extending the lifespan of the 2025 budget from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to ensure completion of ongoing capital projects nationwide.
Under the 2026 fiscal plan, ₦4.799 trillion is set aside for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent spending, while ₦32.2 trillion goes to capital projects—about half of the total budget.
The focus, according to the administration, is on infrastructure development, security, and growth-driven investments aimed at improving living standards.
Speaking on the development, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga said the extension of the 2025 budget will help ensure full use of allocated funds, especially for major ongoing projects.
Tinubu directed all ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure transparency, discipline, and value-for-money in implementing the budget, while praising the National Assembly for its swift passage of the bill.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic reforms, revenue growth, job creation, and social welfare improvements.

In a statement on Friday, the party’s spokesperson, Olusegun Adewara, said the development is a disturbing and dangerous politicisation of a case they claim has already been addressed through judicial processes.
He warned against dragging the state into fresh tension, accusing the state government of attempting to revive old allegations for political advantage.
Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.
He also urged residents, especially affected families, not to allow their pain to be used for political gains, insisting it is unjust to associate Saraki with the crime.
The party further alleged that the move is aimed at distracting attention from governance challenges in the state.
