El-Rufai’s Lawyers Yet To Receive Response From ICPC On Bail Application – Aide Raises Alarm.

Muyiwa Adekeye, media adviser to former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has revealed that his principal is yet to receive a response from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding his bail application.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reports indicate that after voluntarily reporting to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), El-Rufai was detained until the night of Wednesday, February 18, before being transferred to the ICPC.

According to Adekeye, El-Rufai’s lawyers have not been presented with any remand order, even though the 48-hour limit for holding a person without charge has passed.

In a post on on Monday, Adekeye noted that El-Rufai is scheduled to be arraigned on February 25 on charges filed by the Department of State Services (DSS). On the same day, the Federal Capital Territory High Court will hear his fundamental rights case against the Federal Government, the ICPC, the EFCC, and the DSS, seeking an order to grant him bail.

Adekeye wrote:

“Today marks eight days since Malam Nasir El-Rufai was detained. He voluntarily reported to the EFCC on the morning of Monday, February 16, 2026, in response to an invitation. He was held first by the EFCC until the night of Wednesday, February 18, when he was transferred to the ICPC.

“As of today, his lawyers have not received any response from the ICPC regarding their bail application, nor have they been shown any remand order, despite the expiration of the 48-hour limit for holding a person without charge.

“This week, the courts will consider at least two matters concerning Malam El-Rufai. His fundamental rights case against the Federal Government, ICPC, EFCC, and DSS is scheduled for February 25 at the FCT High Court, seeking an order to admit him to bail. He is also set for arraignment on the same date on the widely publicized charges filed by the DSS.”

The 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) began nationwide on Thursday, with over 2.2 million candidates expected to participate across accredited centres.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The exam, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), will run from April 16 to April 22 in multiple daily sessions.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, urged examination officials to remain highly committed and professional, noting that the success of the exercise depends largely on their dedication.

He gave the charge during a virtual final briefing for technical officers ahead of the examination, where he also praised staff, ad hoc personnel, service providers, and technical advisers for their roles in the successful conduct of the mock exam.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.

He also disclosed that biometric verification and real-time monitoring systems have been deployed to protect the integrity of the exercise.

Candidates whose biometrics cannot be verified, he added, will be rescheduled to write the exam at approved centres.

Meanwhile, a NAN correspondent monitoring proceedings at Aduvie International School, Jahi, reported that the first session scheduled for 8:30 a.m. began slightly behind schedule at about 8:40 a.m.
