Achraf Hakimi Set For Trial Over Rape Allegation.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has confirmed that he will face trial following a rape allegation made against him in France.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Moroccan international, who has consistently denied the claim, stated that he is ready to contest the case in court and prove his innocence.
The accusation dates back to February 2023, when a 24-year-old woman filed a complaint alleging that Hakimi raped her at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. French media reported that the pair had connected via social media before she visited his residence on the night of February 24.
A preliminary investigation was opened by the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office in March 2023, followed by a formal indictment days later. In August 2025, prosecutors requested that the case be referred to a criminal court. On Tuesday, judicial sources confirmed that the investigating judge has decided the matter will proceed to trial, marking the end of the investigative phase.
Hakimi, 27, addressed the situation in a statement on , saying:
“Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial, even though I deny it and everything proves it’s false.
This is as unjust to the innocent as it is to genuine victims. I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly.”
No trial date has been set.
Born in Spain but representing Morocco internationally, Hakimi currently plays for PSG and has made 194 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions. Last season, he helped the club win both the league title and the UEFA Champions League.
His performances earned him a spot in the FIFPRO Men’s World Team of the Year at The Best FIFA Football Awards in Paris.
On the international stage, Hakimi was instrumental in Morocco’s historic 2022 World Cup campaign, helping the team reach the semi-finals—the first African nation to achieve that feat.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Hakimi has been included in PSG’s squad for their Champions League knockout round play-off second leg against Monaco.
