Noni Madueke Hails Super Eagles Star Ola Aina As Toughest Opponent Of His Career.3
Arsenal winger Noni Madueke has named Nigeria international Ola Aina as the toughest opponent he has faced, praising the Nottingham Forest defender for his strength, physicality, and composure on the ball.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Aina, a key player for the Super Eagles, has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dependable full-backs since joining Forest in 2023. His standout performances last season were crucial in helping the club secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League and restore confidence at the City Ground.
Even after a brief injury earlier this season, Aina returned and quickly regained his place in the starting lineup, proving his importance to the team.
Madueke, who moved from Chelsea to Arsenal last summer, has faced Aina in five matches. He has managed just one win against the Nigerian international, a record that highlights Aina’s resilience and dominance in one-on-one duels. Their most recent encounter ended in a tense 0-0 draw between Arsenal and Forest last month.
In an interview shared on , Madueke spoke without hesitation when asked to name the hardest full-back he’s played against.
“I’m going to give Ola Aina his flowers. Played against him a couple of times. He’s mad strong, mad physical,” said the former Chelsea man.
“But he’s also good on the ball. Some people probably wouldn’t give him the credit for that.”
It is this combination of strength and skill that sets Aina apart. While his defensive performances often make the headlines, close observers note his comfort on the ball and his ability to step into midfield when needed.
Despite an injury-affected season, the 27-year-old has made 16 appearances in all competitions. Upon regaining fitness, manager Sean Dyche immediately restored him to the starting XI, underlining the trust placed in him.
Nottingham Forest are still chasing Europa League progress and must avoid defeat against Fenerbahçe in the second leg of their round-of-16 play-off to keep their campaign alive.
In the Premier League, Forest sit 17th, just two points above the relegation zone. The coming weeks will be critical not only for the club’s survival but also for the futures of several key players.
