“Garki Ward Collation Turns Chaotic: Party Agents In Confrontation With INEC”.
Tension flared at a ward collation centre in Garki, Abuja, following a heated dispute between party agents and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the announcement of Councillorship election results.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The confrontation occurred during the collation of votes for the Councillorship race, shortly after the chairmanship results had been declared.
Party agents accused INEC officials of denying them the opportunity to verify the result sheets before the final figures for the Councillorship election were announced.
This led to a heated exchange, with agents insisting on transparency and demanding the chance to cross-check the figures from their respective polling units.
In a video obtained by reporters, party agents could be seen arguing with INEC officials, insisting they were not allowed to review the results before the declaration.
One aggrieved agent was heard saying:
“Sir, I disagree with this result. Let’s confirm our own record. You were here for the chairmanship, we checked the figures and they tallied. So why is the councillorship result just declared like this without verification? We disagree. INEC, let us check our figures and confirm our polling units. What nonsense is this!”
