The Real Madrid forward made the statement after teammate Vinícius Júnior alleged he was called a monkey during Tuesday night’s clash.

Mbappé said he repeatedly heard the offensive term coming from the direction of the Argentine winger, who has since denied making any racist remarks.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Mbappé expressed strong views on the matter, saying Prestianni should not feature in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, describing it as the best stadium in the world and insisting the Benfica player does not deserve to play there.

Prestianni, however, dismissed the allegation. In a statement shared on social media, he maintained that his words were misinterpreted and firmly denied engaging in racist conduct during the heated match.

UEFA confirmed it has opened an investigation into the incident, appointing an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to determine what transpired.

The controversy now looms over the decisive second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, one of Europe’s most iconic football venues.
