Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has alleged that the government is targeting him because of his open opposition to its policies.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview with BBC Hausa on Friday, El-Rufai said the administration is uncomfortable with his return to Nigeria, following a recent attempt to arrest him at the airport after arriving from Egypt.

He insisted that the government has no legitimate case against him, accusing it of fabricating charges for political reasons. Despite this, El-Rufai said he is ready for the political battle and happy to be back in the country.

“You know, when that government came, I was among the few who openly said we would oppose it and remove it. There was nothing I didn’t say. If they truly had a case against me like they claim against others, it would have been settled long ago. But if they want to accuse me, they must prove it. I am ready; whoever invites me, I will go,” he said.

El-Rufai added that the government would prefer he stays abroad, noting that the airport arrest attempt was intentional. Nevertheless, he vowed not to back down from the political struggle, saying he feels energized by it.

“As I return home, some people will lose sleep. The efforts to stop me at the airport were empty threats. They know that if we are in Nigeria, we will organize to remove them—and that is what will happen, God willing. I even feel more energized by this kind of political struggle,” he stated.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
