“Osun APC Accuses Gov Adeleke Of Project Bias, Defying Orders On Airport Relocation”.

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of concentrating development projects in his hometown, Ede, and allegedly defying a Federal Government directive to suspend the relocation of the Osun State International Airport.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The governor’s office has denied the allegations.

Speaking to journalists in Osogbo, APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, described the Adeleke administration as “incorrigible and selfish,” claiming it shows no regard for balanced development across the state. The party alleged that since taking office, Adeleke has focused major projects in Ede, noting that the town’s four main entrances are being dualised day and night, while inner roads are being tarred—projects they say are largely absent in other towns and villages.

The APC also questioned the role of the State House of Assembly, asking why lawmakers have remained silent despite constituent concerns.

Regarding the airport project, the party claimed the state ignored a December 6, 2024, directive from the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace, signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Emmanuel D. Meribole, instructing the suspension of the relocation from Ido-Osun to Ede “until issues regarding petitions over the existing airstrip/airport are resolved and to harmonise the state’s efforts with the federal government.” The APC demanded clarification on whether the suspension had been lifted and on reports that N10 billion had been allocated to continue work, saying answers would help ease tensions in the state.

Responding on Thursday, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, dismissed the APC claims, insisting that infrastructure projects are evenly distributed across Osun. He cited ongoing works in Ile-Ife, Ilesa, Iwo, Ikirun, Ila, and Osogbo, highlighting that the Obalufon of Ile-Ife recently praised the N14 billion flyover and dualisation projects in the town.

On the airport, Rasheed stressed that the administration remains committed to delivering a cargo and commercial airport lawfully, noting that Ido-Osun continues to serve as an airstrip housing the Air Force training centre, and that the proposed federal airstrip remains unchanged. He affirmed that the state government will continue pursuing development projects in full compliance with due process.

Sanusi said the police received a distress call from Kubwa Market, located in the Bwari Area Council, reporting that a man was shooting into the air.

Following the report, officers attached to the Kubwa Police Division were deployed to the scene, where they arrested the suspect.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Meanwhile, comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals allegedly linking them to Toluwanisings’ death.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
