Presidency Hits Back At ADC’s Abdullahi: Tinubu Outshines PDP In 16 Years Of Security Efforts.

The presidency has accused ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi of misrepresenting the state of security in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, said Tinubu has achieved more in two years than the PDP did during the 16 years Abdullahi served under it.

Abdullahi had tweeted on Saturday, claiming, “The festering insecurity and violent attacks in Kwara, Katsina and other parts of the country, and massacre of innocent Nigerians is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government.”

In response, Olusegun described Abdullahi’s statement as misleading, arguing that the Tinubu administration’s efforts are already yielding results. He highlighted increased defense spending, sustained military operations, fast-tracking of state police, and recruitment of more security personnel as key measures taken since Tinubu assumed office.

Olusegun outlined several achievements, including:

  • Defense budget rising from N1.25 trillion in 2023 to N4.91 trillion in 2025, improving coordination and disrupting terror cells.

  • Military operations resulting in the surrender of over 160,000 Boko Haram and ISWAP members and their families.

  • Establishment of local security services, including forest guards and mining marshals, alongside army depots in Osogbo and Ebonyi to boost recruitment.

  • Overhaul of national security frameworks with a new counterterrorism doctrine, alongside initiatives like the Livestock Development Ministry and National Commission for Almajiri Education to reduce conflicts and prevent youth recruitment into armed groups.

  • Procurement of new aircraft, including surveillance planes and helicopters, supporting over 8,665 missions and 15,915 flying hours.

  • Neutralization of 9,415 terrorists, arrest of 3,159 suspects, and rescue of 5,449 hostages between August 2023 and April 2025.

Olusegun argued that these steps have strengthened community trust and reduced the influence of groups like IPOB, contrasting Tinubu’s proactive approach with the PDP’s “directionless” tenure.

He concluded, “Whether you like it or not, Nigerians who lived through both administrations see the effort, they know the process, and they feel the seriousness. We will not watch while you misrepresent the facts with reverse psychology.”
