    • Submissions must be completed by 11:59pm CET on Wednesday, September 2, after which the squads will go through verification and approval by respective national associations.

    • Clubs must adhere to a strict 25-player limit on List A, which must include at least two goalkeepers and a minimum of eight “locally trained players”.

    • Within those eight locally trained slots, a maximum of four can be “association-trained players,” with squads facing a reduced maximum size if they fail to meet the eight-player minimum.

    • Locally trained talent is split into club-trained players (registered for three full seasons/36 months between ages 15 and 21) and association-trained players (meeting the same duration with clubs under the same national association).

    • For younger or emerging talent, clubs can register an unlimited number of players on List B throughout the season. List B can be updated up to 11:59pm CET the day before any match for players born on or after January 1, 2005, who meet specific continuous club registration criteria.

    • Players who represented another club during the qualifying rounds or play-offs of the Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League are eligible to feature for their new club from the league phase onward.

    • Teams advancing to the knockout phase can register a maximum of three new players by 11:59pm CET on February 4, 2027, even if those players featured for another club earlier in European competition, though the 25-player List A ceiling remains unchanged.

    • For long-term injuries or illnesses during the league phase (up to Matchday 6), clubs can temporarily replace an outfield player sidelined for at least 60 days, provided the replacement was already registered by the September 2 deadline.

    • Goalkeepers facing an absence of at least 30 days can be temporarily replaced at any point in the season, or permanently replaced following a transfer after Matchday 6.

    • The 2026/27 Champions League campaign will culminate in the final at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 5, 2027.
