‘I’m In Danger’ — Journalist Alleges Threat Over Pipeline Report.

Abuja-based journalist Fejiro Oliver has raised alarms, claiming that his life is under serious threat.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Magistrate Edith Nkechi Anumadu of Court 3 in Asaba, Delta State, had issued a bench warrant against Oliver after he failed to appear in court, citing through his lawyers that he faced multiple threats to his safety. The court also ordered the arrest of his sureties.

This is not the first time a bench warrant has been issued against Oliver. In December 2025, a similar warrant was issued by the magistrate of Court 2 in Asaba, following similar concerns about threats to his life.

Speaking from his hideout on Thursday, Oliver told journalists that he began receiving threats after publishing a report on pipeline surveillance contracts, which he revealed were largely handled by three major companies owned by individuals from the same ethnic group.

“My life has been in danger, and there has been a series of threats, and now attacks on my life and property,” Oliver said.
“I have received death threats warning me to stop exposing these issues or face severe consequences. One night, while working in my office, unknown attackers assaulted me, injuring my head and right elbow. God saved my life. They also stole our computers, phones, camera, and several documents.

“Despite the threats and attacks, I will not give up. I have done nothing wrong. The truth is, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

“If pipeline surveillance contracts are to continue, every tribe should have the right to manage pipelines passing through their areas, rather than allowing only Ijaw-owned companies to control the entire Niger Delta pipeline network.”
