Political Vagabond In Ibadan, Ready To Sacrifice Anything’ – Wike’s Aide Fires Back.

Published

on

The media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, has taken a swipe at an unnamed Ibadan-based politician following remarks by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on the expulsion of alleged vagabonds from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Makinde made the comments on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Oyo State PDP Secretariat in Ibadan, where he addressed recent developments and internal crises within the party.

While explaining the lingering issues in the PDP, the governor invoked a Yoruba proverb, saying that peace in a household often exists only when the troublemaker has not matured.

“In Yoruba land, we say that if a house or compound is peaceful, it is because the vagabond in that house has not grown up,” Makinde said.

He traced the emergence of internal party conflicts to the period after the PDP lost power at the federal level in 2015, which he noted created a leadership vacuum.

Reacting in a post on his official Facebook page, Olayinka described the unnamed Ibadan politician as a political vagabond driven solely by personal ambition and willing to sacrifice anything, including friendships, to advance his interests.

He also recalled the politician’s history of party defections in pursuit of electoral tickets.

According to Olayinka, the politician defected to the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in 2007 after failing to secure the PDP ticket for a Senate seat, and moved to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2015 after missing out on the PDP governorship ticket.

Olayinka further questioned the politician’s next political destination following his reported expulsion from the PDP and the nullification of his Ibadan-based political structure by the court.

FCT Teachers Begin Indefinite Strike Over Demands.

Published

The State Wing Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has ordered all public primary and secondary school teachers in Abuja to commence an indefinite strike from Monday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The union also directed parents and guardians to keep their children at home until further notice, citing unresolved welfare concerns and what it described as government inaction.

This followed a communiqué issued after an emergency SWEC meeting held in Gwagwalada, Abuja, over the weekend and signed by the state leadership of the union.

Teachers were instructed to fully comply with the strike directive and await further instructions from the union leadership, as the industrial action remains in force until their demands are addressed.

According to the communiqué, the strike became necessary after the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum earlier issued to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, which elapsed without a satisfactory response.

The union recalled that although previous interventions led to the suspension of an earlier strike, several key issues affecting teachers’ welfare were still unresolved.

It also expressed concern that a committee set up to address outstanding entitlements submitted its report in August 2025, but the findings have not been made public or implemented.

While acknowledging the payment of the new minimum wage and some salary arrears, the union insisted that major concerns remain unattended.

The NUT further demanded reforms in promotion processes and a review of the 2024 promotion exercise.

After what it described as unsuccessful engagements and expired deadlines, the union declared that all teachers in the FCT will remain on strike indefinitely until their demands are met.
