He stated, “As we celebrate, I urge us not to forget our officers and soldiers serving in operational theatres. We collectively celebrate them and recognize their sacrifices. Their acts of gallantry continue to inspire us. We also pray for the repose of the souls of our fallen heroes who paid the supreme price for peace and unity in Nigeria. May their souls rest in peace, and may God grant their families the strength to bear the loss.”

The NASST Commandant also appealed to officers and men to prepare for the challenges ahead and ensure full implementation of the 2026 training activities. He highlighted that the WASA celebration is a long-standing tradition dating back to the colonial era, providing a social platform for officers and soldiers to unwind from routine regimental duties at year’s end.
