What Binds Nigerians Bigger Than What Threatens To Separate Them – Shettima.

Shettima emphasized that all Nigerians share a common heritage, and the bonds that unite them far outweigh the forces that seek to divide them.
He made the remarks on Wednesday in Jos, Plateau State, during a courtesy visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, HRH Jacob Gyang Buba, at his palace.
“We are all connected in one way or another. We must continue to live together, because what unites us is stronger than what separates us,” he said.
The Vice President, who was in the state for the grand reception of Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other notable politicians joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), praised traditional rulers as key pillars of society. He noted that they not only safeguard cultural heritage but also promote peace among their communities.
Shettima also commended the cordial relationship between APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and Governor Mutfwang, describing the political realignment as a positive development for Plateau State.
“The National Chairman, who hails from the state, made a generous pledge of full support to the Governor at the reception. Their cooperation will bring more dividends of democracy to the people of Plateau,” he said.
Expressing optimism about the alliance, Shettima said it would enhance the state’s image, strengthen peace and stability, and contribute to national unity.
“The National Chairman was once the Governor’s political rival, but today they have agreed to work together. Development cannot thrive without peace, and this collaboration promises greater stability for the state,” he added.
