Naija News reports that Yusuf, along with his cabinet members and some political aides, officially defected to the APC on Monday—a move condemned by the 2023 New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as an act of betrayal.
In a post on on Tuesday, Keyamo praised the governor, noting that Yusuf put the welfare of Kano residents above blind loyalty.
He wrote, “My dear brother, H.E. Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, welcome back home to the APC. With your giant strides in Kano as a true progressive governor, it feels as if you never left the APC. History will remember that you prioritized the welfare of your people over loyalty to any individual.”
Meanwhile, the NNPP criticized Yusuf’s defection, calling it a betrayal of the party, its leader Kwankwaso, and the people of Kano.
The party’s National Spokesperson, Ladipo Johnson, told Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday that the sense of betrayal extended beyond the party leader to the electorate that had voted the NNPP into power.
“Naturally, he feels betrayed. But it’s not just about him,” Johnson said. “The people endured eight years of what they described as poor governance and turned out in large numbers to give the NNPP a mandate through Kwankwaso’s leadership.”

WAGE WAR! NLC and Federal Government Set To Clash Again As Inflation Forces New Minimum Wage Talks!.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has indicated that new negotiations regarding the national minimum wage may commence shortly to address the impact of soaring inflation and economic hardship. This potential development follows the implementation of the ₦70,000 minimum wage approximately two years ago.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
-
Status of Negotiations: While formal talks have not yet begun, NLC spokesperson Benson Upah stated that organized labor expects them to start at any moment.
-
Government Stance: Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, acknowledged the need for further discussions, noting that persistent inflation has significantly diminished the value of the existing minimum wage.
-
Wider Welfare Approach: Gbajabiamila suggested that evaluating workers’ welfare should extend beyond just salary adjustments to include social supports like affordable housing, education, transportation, and healthcare.
-
Context of Past Agreements: The 2024 wage review resulted in a ₦70,000 minimum wage after months of intense negotiations where labor initially sought ₦615,000 due to economic factors like the naira’s float and petrol subsidy removal.
-
Ongoing Concerns: Despite the previous settlement, NLC President Joe Ajaero has maintained that workers require a “living wage” that accurately reflects current economic conditions, as costs for food, electricity, rent, and transportation continue to increase.

THE RETURN OF THE KING? Atiku Abubakar Storms Back Into Nigeria Amid Political Firestorm!.

His return was confirmed by former presidential aide Lauretta Onochie in a social media post on Saturday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In addition to his return, Atiku addressed ongoing legal challenges involving the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Key points from his reaction include:
-
Atiku alleged that efforts to judicially deregister the NDC demonstrate President Bola Tinubu’s “desperate determination” to establish a one-party state in Nigeria.
-
He claimed that the President is fearful of a free and fair election in 2027 and that these actions contradict the democratic aspirations of the Nigerian people.
-
The legal situation follows a Federal High Court ruling in Lokoja, Kogi State, where Justice Isah Dashen set aside a previous judgment that had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC.
-
The court ruled that the December 10, 2025, judgment was flawed because the Peace Movement Party (PMP) was not included as a necessary party to the suit.
-
In a statement released by his media office, Atiku warned that attempts to undermine opposition parties could lead to chaos and anarchy, emphasizing that free and fair elections are the “soul of democracy”.
